Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs’ press secretary slammed transgender people in a tweet featuring an armed woman just hours after six people were shot dead at a Christian school.
Jocelyn Berry uploaded a gif of a woman with two guns Monday night alongside the caption, “We are when we see transgender people.”
It came less than 12 hours after Audrey Hill of Nashville, 28 – who used her pronouns – killed three children and three adults in a mass shooting at Covenant School on Monday.
Republicans have now called for Perry’s impeachment after a hateful tweet prompted her to make her Twitter profile private.
The photo shared by Perry – who has worked with Hobbs since January – was of actress Gena Rowlands in the 1980 movie “Gloria.”

Jocelyn Berry uploaded the hateful tweet less than 12 hours after Nashville resident Audrey Hill, 28, who used his own pronouns, killed three children and three adults in a mass shooting at Covenant School on Monday.
Earlier today I posted: “If you work in the progressive community and you’re transphobic, you’re not progressive.”
It is not clear what she was referring to or if it had anything to do with the shooting that happened that same day.
The Arizona Freedom Caucus, which is chaired by Republican Sen. Jake Hoffman and often at odds with Hobbes’ policies, wrote in response: Shoot People Democrats disagree with.
Advocating such violence is totally un-American and unacceptable. Joselyn Berry should be fired immediately.
As of Tuesday night, the tweet was still available on Perry’s account but she has made her profile private meaning it can only be seen by those who already follow her.
Hobbs — a staunch LGBT rights advocate who became Arizona’s governor in November — has yet to respond to the controversy.
But on Monday, she wrote of the shooting: “My family and I send all our love to the families affected by the tragic news coming out of Nashville.”
“I know parents across the country are hugging their kids a little tighter tonight.”
Nashville is still reeling from the shooting that killed three nine-year-olds.
Hill opened fire on Covenant School – a small private primary school run by the church – at around 10.13am on Monday.

As of Tuesday night, the tweet was still on Perry’s account, but her Twitter profile was soon made private.

Hobbs did not comment on Perry’s tweet but did address the Nashville shooting
She was armed with two rifles and a revolver, and reportedly planned the killing meticulously.
She shot and killed Principal Catherine Consey in the hallway in an “assassination” style killing, as well as shooting church guard Mike Hale and substitute teacher Cynthia Beck.
Hill also killed three nine-year-old students. Haley Scruggs, William Kenny, and Evelyn Dechhaus.
By 10.27am, she had been killed by Officers Rex Engelbert and Michael Collazo.
The footage shows how officers strategically checked classrooms for the shooter before finding her in a second-floor hallway, firing in their direction as part of her plan to commit suicide by a cop.
Before driving to school, I messaged a friend on Instagram telling them, “I plan to die today. This is not a joke!!!
You’ll probably hear about me on the news after I die.
“This is my last goodbye. I love you. “See you again in another life.”

On Tuesday, Dailymail.com EXCLUSIVELY revealed that Hale had a falling out with her devout Christian parents because they “couldn’t accept” that she was gay and transgender.

Church coordinator Norma, 61, and her husband, Ronald, 64, refused to allow Hale — who had recently adopted the name Aiden and used the pronouns — to dress as a man in their home.
Instead, she’d wait until she left their $700,000 Nashville property to change her clothes, according to a well-known source.
You only see what you want to see. “Their religion does not allow them to accept homosexuality,” the source told DailyMail.com.
Audrey was home but when she left the house she changed her clothes. They knew about it, but they just didn’t accept it.
Neighbors on the tree-lined suburban street where the family had lived for three decades said they were ignorant of Hill’s apparent transition and remembered her as a “tomboy-type skater”.
“She introduced herself about a year and a half ago as Audrey,” said one.
I treated her like a female and she wouldn’t correct me. She looked artistic, calm and kind.

And Nashville is still reeling from tragedy this week after the shooting deaths of three children and three adults on Monday
Police now say Hill planned more attacks – including against her own family.
We have spoken to the father and mother. We searched the house and found two more weapons in there and some other maps related to thinking of some other incidents.
“We believe very strongly that there will be some other targets, including family members, one of the malls here in Nashville, and that didn’t happen,” President John Drake told CBS This Morning.
