Arizona construction company owner arrested after being filmed slapping female builder

Date:

The owner of a construction company in Arizona is facing an assault charge after a video posted on TikTok captured him slapping a female worker in the face while shouting profanity at her for scratching a cupboard.

Brent Hospelhorn, 46, has been identified by Phoenix police as the supervisor who was filmed belligerently yelling at the soft-spoken woman and other workers at the North Phoenix construction site on Tuesday.

His victim has not been named, with the clip uploaded to a colleague’s TikTok account, from where it was widely shared.

Hospelhorn was taken into custody, cited and released, enraging social media users who demanded to know why he was not in jail as they accused police of inaction.

Police released a statement on Wednesday that said social media users were spreading an “inaccurate account” and claims of “lack of action” on their part were false. Although Hospelhorn was not held in jail, police said the man was “recommended for charges”.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at a property under construction near Deer Valley Drive and 56th Street in North Phoenix, police said.

Hospelhorn, which owns a construction company in Scottsdale called BPH Construction LLP according to online recordings, was recorded shouting profanity at workers on the job site.

‘Leave! Get the f*** out of my building right now,’ he shouts, pointing at the person recording the video.

A woman in the side quietly says “no” and an enraged Hospelhorn reaches out and slaps her, shouting “you’re a fucking bitch”.

It’s hard to see how the woman reacts afterwards, as the camera focuses on Hospitalhorn as he walks away.

“All over my fucking closets,” he shouts. “How many times do I have to tell you fucking people to take off the g****** belt.”

When another worker appears to defend the woman, Hospelhorn yells back, ‘Bull****, that’s f****** her, that’s her. One hundred percent, because she was leaning on it when she walked in here.

“Get that bitch off my yard,” he shouted. ‘I’m the fucking super ******. What I say, damn it, goes,” he continued, shouting.
