Drew Barrymore sparked an emotional response from Ariana Grande when she delighted her with a rarely seen prop from The Wizard Of Oz.
The 31-year-old pop star and actress filmed a pre-recorded episode of Drew’s talk show of the same name that will air on Thursday, December 5.
During the TV spot, the 49-year-old host surprised Grande with Glinda’s wand from the 1939 film.
Ariana, who plays the witch in Jon Chu’s live-action film Wicked, was moved to tears by the gesture.
When Ariana was handed the historic item, which belongs to a private owner, she covered her mouth and exclaimed, “Are you serious?”
She showed off her quick wit as she pretended to leave the set with the wand, joking, “Thanks, guys. It was fun. Bye!’

For her time on the show, the singer wore a strapless, pink, diagonally striped Thom Browne corset and a matching billowy skirt.
Her blonde hair was pulled back into a sleek updo with a precise center parting and not a strand out of place.
The singer-songwriter took to Instagram to preview the upcoming episode after the taping, saying she was “still speechless.”
To captivate her audience of 376 million, she tagged Drew and her show and wrote, “Thank you for this extraordinary gesture and moment.”
She added, “I’m so grateful for our conversation today and for your heart, your generosity, your everything.”
The gushing note ended with, “I love you so much. There really are no words.”
Part one of Wicked was released in theaters on November 22, after a whirlwind press tour full of viral moments.
The critically acclaimed feature film has already earned $366 million worldwide.
Playing opposite Ariana’s “good witch” is Cynthia Erivo, who plays the character Elphaba.

Ariana plays the ‘good’ witch Glinda in Jon Chu’s live-action film Wicked
Wicked follows Elphaba and Glinda as they meet at Shiz University and share a life-changing encounter with Jeff Goldblum’s Wizard of Oz.
Universal tapped Chu to direct the beloved story in 2021.
The sequel will premiere on November 21, 2025.
While promoting the film on the Sentimental Men podcast in November, Grande discussed her role with hosts Quincy Brown and Kevin Bianchi.
When explaining the audition process, she said she felt pressure to overcome the “challenge” of letting go of her pop star image.
“I felt a little bit of initial nervousness or kind of preconceptions about what I could or couldn’t deliver, or why I would be wrong (for the role) or whatever,” Ariana admitted.
