A shocking packaging error on Ariana Grande’s new ‘Wicked’ doll shares a URL to an adult content website instead of the film’s official page.
Mattel released a Singing Glinda doll ahead of the release of Universal Pictures’ Wicked movie on November 22.
But those excited to see Grande playing the ‘Good Witch’ have noticed that the doll’s box features a terrible error completely inappropriate for children.
Instead of the film’s official site ‘wickedmovie.com’, the box shares a link to ‘wicked.com’, a pornographic website.
“Mattel’s official Wicked dolls link to a porn site on the box,” someone posted on X with two crying emojis.
Based on eBay sales and social media reactions, this wasn’t just a one-off mistake.
The Wicked Doll Box accidentally links to an adult content website instead of the official movie page.
Glinda, the ‘Good Witch’, will be played by Ariana Grande in the highly anticipated November 22 film.
“This may be the worst mistake in the history of official merchandise,” declared one X user.
By omitting just one word from the website, Mattel has sparked an avalanche of outrage, with many people worried about children unknowingly searching for the URL.
“Whoever did this should be fired immediately because why would they do that knowing that it is mainly children who buy these dolls?” someone on X said.
Another said: “It’s very strange knowing it’s a children’s toy.”
Others were simply baffled by how such a mistake could find its way into production.
‘IS THIS REAL?’ someone asked.
The Glinda doll ranges in price from $24.99 to about $40 at stores like Target and Macy’s.
Grande and Cynthia Erivo play the two witches in the film. Both characters have dolls, but the error has only been detected in Glinda’s.

But on eBay, some of the dolls in the defective boxes cost between $175 and almost $500.
Other pieces of Wicked merchandise were not affected by this mishap, and the LEGO set had the correct website listed, one social media user reported.
There are several types of Wicked-themed dolls for sale, but the error has only been detected in Glinda’s doll.
DailyMail.com has contacted Mattel and Universal Pictures for comment.
The highly anticipated film is based on the 1995 book by Gregory Maguire that was later turned into a three-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical in 2003.
Directed by Jon M. Chu with a staggering budget of $145 million, Wicked is split into two feature films, with the final chapter scheduled for November 2025.
Some of the dolls based on Grande’s character have been listed on eBay for up to $500.
Critics are already calling Wicked: Part One a “masterpiece” that “stands out and delights on the big screen” as audiences are welcomed into the fantastical world of Oz.
The film’s leads, Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who play witches Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, are receiving high praise for their amazing vocals and on-screen chemistry.
Film and television journalist Scott Menzel boldly called it “the best big-screen adaptations of a Broadway musical ever created.”
