Argentine players are reportedly furious at the decision to move the Copa America from their country to Brazil and have expressed concerns with players from other countries.
The country had removed their rights to host the tournament on Monday, less than two weeks before the competition was due to start, due to a record number of coronavirus cases that emerged last week and the death toll rose to nearly 77,000 last weekend.
Brazil was named as the new host for the tournament, which will welcome 10 South American countries between June 13 and July 10, despite suffering 450,000 Covid-19-related deaths and a similar infection rate to Argentina.

And according to ESPN Brasil, players from Argentina have discussed their objections to the move with players from other countries, but have resigned due to the short notice to play in Brazil if necessary.
Colombia was originally supposed to host the event together with Argentina, but the tournament was removed from them on May 20 due to ongoing political protests there.
Now Argentina’s host role has been removed just days after the Argentine Football Association (AFA) suspended all football activities for nine days to fight a second wave of coronavirus in the country.

New Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero, who completed a transfer from Manchester City earlier this week, reprimanded South American football governing body CONMEBOL for changing its mind about the situation so often.
The attacker said: “From what I have heard in Brazil, they have also closed the borders. It is very difficult to express an opinion. We, the players, want to play. It is obvious. The problem is to find a good place to play.
“We have to play it, there’s no time – we already lost last year. There was a year to find a place where it could and what could happen. Every month, two months everything changes.’

This year’s Copa America will be held in four Brazilian cities: Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Goiania and Cuiaba.
