Anthony Joshua called Laura Woods his “dream date” in an interview with the presenter after his win over Jermaine Franklin on Saturday night.
AJ picked up his first win since 2020 despite a less convincing performance against Franklin, with a fight score of 118-111, 117-111, 117-111 in his favour.
He appeared to be in good spirits after the fight as Woods had asked him to IFL TV What he thought of her career The two-time world champion replied: “I think she’s blossomed amazingly, just like you,” prompting the 35-year-old to wonder how many times he’s been hit on the head.
Later in the interview, Joshua answered “you” when asked about his dream date, at which point Woods punched the air and told him “That’s perfect!”.
AJ then joked about how Ruben Loftus-Cheek had “beat him” after the Chelsea midfielder named Woods his dream nickname in his interview with TalkSPORT.

Both parties confirmed that they are not in relationships after Joshua asked “Have you been taken?” , before the host delivers him a bigger blow than any Franklin can muster as she admits she’s been “very focused on work” so far.
The boxer also steers clear of relationships, adding, “With boxing, I feel like I never wanted commitment because I didn’t want to train and I’m busy arguing with my mistakes or something and my head isn’t in the game.”
“I just decided to keep my head where it needs to be.”
Speaking in 2020, Joshua admitted he hadn’t had a girlfriend ‘for a while’ and said it would be nice to ‘have someone’ but he blamed the difficult work-life balance.
Tell the sun: I think you can date and still be a successful athlete, but it’s hard to find a balance and I’ll have to make compromises – which I didn’t feel capable of doing.

While his love life may be on hold, Joshua made his boxing intentions clear after his victory over Franklin when he called out heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.
After the win, he said “I try to provide support for the fans, I know who they want. They said Tyson Fury. The ball is in his court. It’s an honor to fight for the WBC World Heavyweight Championship.”
“If he is listening, he knows my promoter; We’ve had a dialogue before, so let’s keep it going. We’re not getting any younger.
Woods let the heavyweight begin, though, responding that she was “too focused on the work.”
The fight between Fury and Joshua has long been considered one of the most coveted matches in the heavyweight division, if not the entire sport, but it failed to materialize.
However, after losing his belts to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021, and losing a rematch in 2022, the possibility is more unlikely than ever, with Gypsy King likely wanting to fight to unite the division.
Fury was scheduled to fight Usyk later this month, but talks fell through after financial disagreements.
Hearn previously told Sportsmail that talks took place about a Joshua vs. Fury fight this summer, though Frank Warren later angrily denied it.
