Are you drinking too much alcohol? Use our revealing calculator to find out...

Treat yourself to a well-deserved glass of wine every night, assuming it’s harmless.

Unfortunately for you, it means you are breaching the 14 weekly units recommended by health chiefs.

That limit, considered the tipping point in terms of health damage, is equivalent to about six pints of beer or one and a half bottles of wine.

MailOnline’s handy calculator can work out how many units you sink each week, as well as compare this to UK guidelines.

Simply answer how many beers, wines, soft drinks and spirits you drink weekly.

The NHS recommends that those who consume 14 units per week spread this amount evenly over at least three days.

She also says that it is safest not to drink alcohol at all for women who are pregnant or trying for a baby.

“One unit is equivalent to 10ml or 8g of pure alcohol, which is approximately the amount of alcohol the average adult can process in one hour,” the NHS explains in its alcohol advice section.

‘You can calculate how many units are in any drink by multiplying the total volume of a drink (in ml) by its ABV (measured as a percentage) and dividing the result by 1,000.’
