However, it now appears it was all just for publicity, as Sam Thompson shared a clip of himself arguing with his girlfriend Zara McDermott as part of a fake advert.
Sam, 31, who works with toothpaste brand Sensodyne, shared the ad on his Instagram on Thursday, saying he is “a softie” and that “there’s nothing wrong with being sensitive.”
In the comedy sketch, the pair argue as Sam brushes Zara’s teeth, who looks sad, before she says: “You know it’s also 100% recyclable, just like the bride and groom.”
The announcement comes after the former Love Island star She reportedly rushed to her parents’ home in Essex last month after a “fierce row” with Sam forced her to pack her bags and leave the home they share in London.

However, Zara, 27, took to Instagram the following day to address the images, saying she was giving the reality star “positive affirmations”, after they appeared to be having an argument.
At the start of the new ad, Sam says: “Teeth are a bit like girlfriends, some are more sensitive. Take my girlfriend for example,” as he puts his arm around Zara.
Unimpressed, she asks: “What is this? Are we making an announcement?” before putting on a fake smile.
While making a sad face, Sam brushes her teeth throughout the clip and adds: “And just like sensitive teeth, sensitive brides need all our extra love and care.”
Zara replies: “You literally cry when you can’t sleep. They’re real tears.”
As the commercial comes to an end, Zara grabs Sam’s wrist as he attempts to put the toothbrush in his mouth once again.
And, to finish off her insult, she says: “You know that it is also 100% recyclable, like the bride and groom. What do you think of that ad?”, before storming off.

A source close to the couple has said they are now trying to “work things out.”
