A former archbishop and top Vatican official who was excommunicated earlier this year warned Catholics that Kamala Harris is “an infernal monster who obeys Satan.”
Carlo Maria Vigano, who was once the Vatican’s ambassador to the United States, was expelled from the church earlier this year over accusations against Pope Francis, of whom he is a fierce critic.
Vigano has previously expressed support for Donald Trump and warned the president in 2020 that he coronavirus pandemic and the George Floyd The protests were part of a “deep state” plot to undermine his re-election.
Now, he has published an open letter to Catholics telling them that it is a sin to choose Harris over Trump.
“The choice is between a conservative president, who pays with his life for his fight against the deep state, and an infernal monster who obeys Satan,” writes Vigano.

He says that under Harris, the United States would be “destined for invasion and moral, social and economic destruction: the fiercest dictatorship.”
While he disagrees with Trump’s positions on abortion and IVF, he still sees it as the superior option.
‘Voting for Donald Trump means firmly distancing ourselves from an anti-Catholic, anti-Christian and anti-human vision of society. “It means stopping those who want to create a hellish dystopia that is even worse than the one predicted by George Orwell,” he said.
He describes current President Joe Biden as “a servant of this subversive and widely blackmailable elite for the scandals and crimes committed by him personally and also by his family, starting with his son Hunter.”
Harris, he alleges, is under the control of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Jeffrey Epstein, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and George Soros.
Vigano says that those who control Harris are “people devoted to evil, united by satanic hatred against Our Lord Jesus Christ and those who believe in Him, mainly against the Catholic faithful.”
He added that Catholics can really make a difference in tilting the election toward Trump.
‘Vote without hesitation and pray that Our Lord will enlighten the American citizens in their election and grant victory to those who, at least, have no problem proclaiming that Christ is Lord.’
He says that under Harris, the United States would be “destined for invasion and moral, social and economic destruction: the fiercest dictatorship.”
Pew Research Center Polls suggest that Trump leads Harris among Catholics by 52% to 47%.
Archbishop Vigano was born in Varese, Italy, and was ordained a priest in March 1968, before working as a Vatican diplomat in Iraq and Britain in the 1970s.
In 1989, Vigano was appointed Vatican representative to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
He later served as General of the Governorate, dealing with Vatican finances, from 2009, before serving as apostolic nuncio in Washington DC from 2011 until his retirement in 2016.
Vigano previously called on Pope Francis to resign, alleging that the pontiff knew about sexual abuse allegations against Archbishop Theodore McCarrick but covered them up.
The Vatican rejected the accusation of covering up sexual misconduct and last month summoned Viganò to respond to accusations of schism and denying the legitimacy of the pope.
In a July statement, the doctrinal office said its refusal to recognize and submit to Pope Francis was clear in its public statements.
“At the conclusion of the criminal process, the Most Reverend Carlo María Vigano was found guilty of the reserved crime (violation of the law) of schism,” the statement said, adding that he had been excommunicated or banished from the Church.
The Vatican dicastery’s statement did not mention the Pope, but it is highly unlikely that the punishment was imposed without Francis’ approval.
