Apple Music launches a Discovery Station to help you find new songs

Date:

Apple Music has a new station designed to help you find songs you might like. The app’s Discovery Station will play a selection of music curated based on what you’ve been listening to lately but haven’t added to your library or listened to before, such as seen before by Apple Insider and 9to5Mac.

While Apple hasn’t officially announced Discovery Station, it’s currently live on mobile, desktop, and Apple Music. Web applications for most users. You can find the option by heading to Listen Now and then looking under the Stations for You section. Discovery Station works together with (Your Name) Station, which plays a selection of songs you already have in your library.

Some of my colleagues here at the edge They have access to Discovery Station and have found that it does a decent job of showing off music they like but haven’t heard before. Jay Peters says that the music he recommended was “square in my wheelhouse”, while Wes Davis agreed that it “sounds pretty good actually”.

Either way, this new station should at least help Apple catch up with Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist that algorithmically delivers a batch of recommended songs to users each week.
