Apple’s fellow debutante Martin has come to her defence, following criticism for her ‘bad girl’ antics at the recent Les Bal des Débutantes in Paris.

The 20-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin was accused of stealing the spotlight from French Countess Aliénor Loppin de Montmort, as she walked into the frame while Aliénor was having her photo taken.

In another viral video, she was seen rolling her eyes while talking to her date, Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck, who accompanied her to the glitzy event.

However, Aliénor shared that Apple is “truly the nicest girl ever” in a statement to People.

“She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting,” the young countess added.

Aliénor, who was the only French debutante at the ball, went on to say that Apple “was the kindest girl who ever lived, not only to me but to all the debts.”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s 20-year-old daughter was accused of stealing the spotlight from the French countess, as she entered the scene while Aliénor had her photo taken.

It comes after a source close to her mother Gwyneth told DailyMail.com that Apple is a “girls’ girl”, not a “mean girl”, after her behavior at a debutante ball raised eyebrows.

“Apple is more playful and fun and really is a total kid,” the source said after Martin was accused of trying to grab a camera and filmed rolling her eyes at Saturday’s event.

“She never wanted to take away anyone’s limelight, that was not her intention. Characterizing her as a bad girl is very false.

“She really had a wonderful evening and I feel bad that this takes away from it because it was a very uplifting evening for her and the other girls.”

Countess Alienor looked regal as she arrived at the event in a daring black Emmanuel Ungaro dress that paid tribute to her grandmother.

According to event organizers, Alienor’s stylish ensemble was a vintage selection from her grandmother’s wardrobe.

Meanwhile, Martin donned a stunning Valentino dress to attend Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris with her Goop mogul mother and Coldplay singer father Chris.

The Vanderbilt student went viral for footage that allegedly showed her making a cheeky move to get a photographer’s attention while taking a photo of Alienor.

During the ball, each debutante took a turn in the spotlight, twirling to show off their expertly styled appearance and to have their photo taken. Apple decided that just one moment was not enough and seemed to take advantage of the debutante in front of her. , which turned out to be Alienor.

Posing with his hands on his hips, Martin made his way into the frame, forcing Alienor out. Meanwhile, her unwitting rival was left giggling awkwardly as Apple stole the show, downing several drinks while she pouted and posed.

Alienor comes from the Loppin family of Montmort, survivors of the French nobility and originally from Beaune in Burgundy, and its roots date back to 1480.

Guillaume Loppin was married to Isabeau of Cologne, daughter of the mayor of Beaune and from a high-powered family in the region, with several family members holding high administrative positions.

However, in 1585, the family lost their noble status after being ennobled by office in the Chamber of Accounts of Burgundy, in Dijon, becoming lords of Montmort in eastern France.

According to a heritage site, Alienor was born in Brussels in 2007.

A look at the young man’s Instagram page reveals a luxurious life spending luxurious holidays in Europe, expensive meals and many cultural activities including enjoying art galleries and watching sporting events.

Later that night, Martin was photographed rolling her eyes at her date with Count Leo Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck.

But the source insisted to DailyMail.com that Martin has a “good relationship” with his aristocratic companion.

“They had cameras all day and were playing,” they said.

“It was a total joke and, again, nothing sarcastic, nothing negative,” the source added.

Martin’s fans also rushed to his defense, pointing out that the video was possibly not the full picture.

Many also praised her stunning strapless blue couture dress from Valentino’s 2025 collection.

On X, one observer wrote: ‘Apple doesn’t give me any bully vibes?’ “Especially with a father like Chris Martin.”

“I don’t know for sure because I’m not there, but that’s just what I see and of course a lot of people on Tiktok like to exaggerate things.”

Referencing the now-notorious moment when Apple appeared to sneak in her fellow debutante’s photo opportunity, a third wrote: “The photographer can CLEARLY be seen motioning for her to stop to take a photo and she playfully obliges.”

“She seems excited to be outside and was just being silly.” They better leave Chris Martin’s Apple alone.

Martin was joined by his mom, dad Chris Martin, brother Moses, 18, and grandmother, actress Blythe Danner, for the glitzy event.

The family and the other debutantes gathered at the $1,000-a-night Shangri-la Hotel for the ball, which featured traditional ballroom dancing.

While the debutantes take center stage, each is paired with a ‘gentleman’, who are often young men from equally distinguished backgrounds, to make their grand entrance at the ball.

Leo, Martin’s companion, is the son of film director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and Christiane Asschenfeldt, the first international executive director of Creative Commons.

He is a descendant of a large and noble Austro-German family who were central figures in the Second Industrial Revolution, spearheading technological innovations such as mild steel factories, triple-decker rolling mills, and soda pulp mills in Germany.

The family joined an exclusive list of attendees, all personally invited by the ball’s host, Ophélie Renouard.

Renouard invites his guests based on their appearance, intelligence, and family connections.

The event is billed as a charity fundraiser and will benefit two entities related to children’s health, according to Hello!

Debutantes on the attendance list include European royalty, as well as the daughters of A-list celebrities.
