Apple has increased the price of most Apple Watch battery replacements, as reported by 9to5Mac. Replacements used to cost $79, but now, for Apple Watch Series 4 and newer devices, you’ll have to shell out $99. You can check the prices yourself on the company page. It’s unfortunate that some of the battery replacement rates are increasing, but I’m also not surprised to see it. Apple raised prices for battery replacements on some iPhones, iPads and Macs by $20 to $50 earlier this year.
Still, paying for battery replacement can be a good way to add more life to an older device that is otherwise working well. It’s what I’m personally thinking about doing to keep my iPhone 12 Mini running for as long as possible. As tempting as a USB-C-based iPhone is, I’m still not willing to spend money on one.
