Apple started the event with a look at the upcoming game service, Apple Arcade.

"We are adding a whole new way to enjoy games in the app store," said Tim Cook.

Apple Arcade will exist as a new tab in the App Store, and subscribers have unlimited access to the library, which is constantly being updated.

It is launched with more than 100 titles from popular game makers, including Konami, Capcom and Annapurna, starting with Frogger, Shinsekai into the Depths and Sayonara Wild Hearts.

The expectation is that new games will also be added in the coming weeks, the company says.
