A tech expert has revealed little-known tricks that he claims will double your iPhone’s battery life.
“The biggest villain of the iPhone is its battery,” said Thiago Derminio, Apple expert and creator of educational content.
«Everyone complains that it ends too quickly and this gets worse over the years. These are tips that not even Apple wants you to know.’
He suggested adjusting certain hidden settings in the operating system to prevent apps and features from draining your battery by running in the background.
These included “Apple Suggestions,” “Reduce Motion,” and “Background App Refresh.”
These are all found in your iPhone’s Settings app and can be easily changed in a few easy steps.
To get started, open Settings, sScroll down to ‘Siri & Search’ and tap.
Next, scroll down to a menu of four settings listed under “Apple Suggestions.”

Those settings will be “Allow Notifications,” “Show in App Library,” “Show When Sharing,” and “Show When Listening,” all of which will allow Siri to make suggestions about what you’d like to do next based on your routines or how you use applications.
While these suggestions can be helpful, “they consume battery in the background and do not need to be activated,” Derminio explained.
You’ll see an on/off button next to each of these settings, and chances are they’re all turned on. Disable them to conserve battery life.
Now, go back to the main Settings menu and tap “Accessibility,” then tap “Motion.”
At the top of the screen, you’ll see the “Reduce Motion” setting.
iPhones running iOS 18 have the parallax effect, which causes the wallpaper, apps, and alerts to move or change slightly when you tilt the device.
While this creates a satisfying visual effect, it is not necessary and consumes more battery power.
Turning on the ‘Reduce Motion’ setting disables the parallax effect and should increase battery life.

‘Background App Refresh’ allows apps to be idle in the background and update automatically even when you are not using them, thereby draining your battery. Turning it off will fix this problem.
Finally, go back to the main Settings menu and tap “General,” then select “Background App Refresh.”
At the top of the screen, you will see another “Background App Refresh” button. Tap that and then select “Off.”
This setting allows apps to remain idle in the background and update automatically even when you are not using them, thus draining your battery.
Turning it off will fix this problem.
“With these settings, your battery will last much longer throughout the day,” Derminio said.
He explained the tricks in a tiktok video posted on their ‘Smart Tips’ page (@bravetech.ai).
If you’re looking for more ways to boost your iPhone’s battery life, you can also adjust the ‘Reduce White Point’ feature, according to Herby Jasmin, founder of tech site Gotechtor.
This feature reduces brightness and dims the brightest colors on the iPhone’s screen, thereby conserving battery life because the phone doesn’t have to keep the screen as bright as it normally would be.
To adjust these settings, open the Settings app and tap “Accessibility,” then tap “Screen and text size.”
Scroll down and you should see the ‘Reduce White Point’ setting with an on/off button next to it. Turn it on and use the slider to adjust the intensity.
This feature can also be customized to activate during certain hours or when the sleep focus option is enabled.

If you find that your iPhone continues to die quickly between charges even after trying these tricks, it may be time to replace the battery.
In addition to improving your iPhone’s battery life, having a dimmer screen reduces eye strain.
One of the most common complaints among iPhone users is that the battery degrades or loses capacity very quickly.
Over time, this results in fewer and fewer hours of use between charges.
All batteries age chemically and therefore lose capacity as they are used. According to Apple, this normal process can be accelerated by exposing your iPhone to high temperatures or charging it too frequently.
If you find that your iPhone continues to die quickly between charges even after trying these tricks, it may be time to replace the battery.
Apple recommends replacing the battery if it is less than 80 percent full, which you can check in Settings by tapping “Battery” and then “Battery Health & Charge,” which will show you the “Maximum Capacity” of your battery.
