Apple could launch FOUR new iPhone 12 models in 2020, including a palm-sized ‘Mini’ iPhone
Apple will launch four new iPhone 12 models in September, including a “Mini” iPhone with a 5.4-inch screen, according to a new report.
The four new iPhone 12 models (Pro, Pro Max, standard model and “Mini”) will support 5G, according to LetsGoDigital, based on “known information”.
YouTuber Jermaine Smit, also known as Concept Creator, has created a series of 3D renderings of Pro and Pro Max, based on this information.
The elegant designs show ultra-thin bevels around the edge and a barely noticeable notch on the top, which further converts the front of the iPhone into the screen.
Together with the iPhone SE 2, which is rumored to be launched in March, this would raise the total number of iPhones launched by Apple in 2020 to five.

Concept Creator created renders of the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max models for LetsGoDigital, based on ‘known information’
“The iPhone 11 Pro series brought a new design for the camera,” said Concept Creator.
‘But with the iPhone 12 Pro there are rumors that we will recover the flat frames! With that I created a series of iPhone 12 Pro! ‘
Apple will expand the four screens of the iPhone 12 without significantly increasing the dimensions of the phones, so that users can enjoy large screens while operating their device with one hand.
Standard and Pro iPhone 12 models will come with a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone Pro Max will have 6.7 inches.
By way of comparison, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, launched last September, respectively have 6.1, 5.8 and 6.5-inch screens.
The iPhone 12 Pro and pro Max models are configured to include a third telephoto lens and a fourth lens in the form of a ToF (Flight Time) camera, which provides better image depths
Meanwhile, the new “Mini” model will come with a 5.4-inch screen and a dual digital camera on the back.
The iPhone and iPhone 12 Mini will be equipped with two cameras on the back, probably a wide-angle camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera.
It is also likely that the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max have three cameras on the back, one with a third telephoto lens and one with a fourth flight time lens (ToF).
ToF cameras allow accurate 3D depth readings for better pictures of portraits and augmented reality (AR) applications by measuring the round trip time of an artificial light signal provided by a laser or LED.
iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max will feature a flight time camera lens, which provides more accurate depth detection, suitable for AR applications
IPhone 12 Pro models are also expected to have other AR functions based on their Memoji avatar capability, which allows users to create animated versions of themselves from the Messages application.
The round edges of the four iPhone 12 models will give way to straighter lines for a “completely new look,” while the phones could be even thinner.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max would be only 7.4 mm, almost 10% thinner than the iPhone 11 Pro Max 8.1 mm thick, reports LetsGoDigital.
Face ID, the facial recognition technology introduced with the iPhone X in 2017, will remain in the new models, which means that the Touch ID button will not return with the iPhone 12.
However, Face ID will receive a hardware update, so faces will be recognized even faster, according to the report.
According to the LetsGoDigital report, the iPhone 12 Pro Max (left) and iPhone Pro (right) respectively have 6.7-inch and 6.1-inch OLED displays.
All iPhone 12 models will be equipped with a Bionic A14 chip processor and will come with OLED displays.
They will be offered in four colors: silver, space gray, midnight green and a new ‘navy blue’.
Apple is expected to announce its new operating system, iOS 14, in June, which will be on the new phones.
However, it is likely that 5G models will only be published in countries where there is 5G support, including EE. USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Korea.
iPhone SE 2 will come with Touch ID, advanced single lens camera and a next-generation Bionic A13 processor
Before the launch of the iPhone 12 series in September, Apple also plans to launch the iPhone SE 2 in March.
The rumored 4.7-inch screen on the iPhone SE 2 and the 5.4-inch screen on the iPhone 12 “Mini” would give fans of smaller screens slightly more palm-friendly options.
The renderings based on alleged leaks of the iPhone SE 2 created by OnLeaks show a design very similar to the company’s iPhone 8 launched more than two years ago, which includes the same screen size (4.7 inches) and the return of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
The original iPhone SE, or iPhone Special Edition, was launched in 2016 for $ 399.
There are no pricing details for the iPhone 12, but LetsGoDigital said new camera and hardware updates are likely to increase the price of the iPhone 12 from the iPhone 11 of £ 729.
