Apple can soon launch over-the-ear headphones for $ 399 in three different colors
- Placeholders in the product database of Target pre-shading ‘Airpods X Generation’
- Speculation indicates that they are over-the-ear headphones from the Apple brand
- Images of the placeholders in the Target database suggest that they will cost $ 399
- Sources at Target say that products with placeholders arrive within months
Apple may be approaching the release of its own over-the-ear headphones from the company.
According to images circulating on Twitter with thanks to YouTuber, Jon Prosser, Target employees in the US have reported a mysterious addition to their product database, called “Apple Airpods X Generation.”
The images show the product name on an official Target UPC scanner, a tool used to check inventory in stores, and suggest that it has not yet arrived and claim that 0 is currently available.

It also suggests that the price of the mysterious Airpods X Generation will be $ 399 and that they can come in three different colors.
Although it is not clear what the product will be outside as a name and a price, speculation has suggested that it could be the company’s rumors over-the-ear headphones.
Both a Bloomberg report last year and earlier findings from analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, who often predicts Apple’s future hardware, suggested that an over-the-ear headphone product would be released in 2018.
However, Bloomberg reported last year that plans to publish those headphones were delayed due to “development issues.”
Whatever the product, AppleInsider suggests that the name in the Target database – Airpod X Generation – is probably not the final title.
The price, according to sources cited by Appleinsider who work at Target, is very likely accurate, and the existence of placeholders in the system usually indicates that the product will arrive in the coming months.
The release of over-the-ear headphones from Apple would be a big step for the company, given the ownership of Beats, an audio company that makes high-quality over-the-ear headphones.
It is unclear whether the release of its own Apple brand product would increase that line of beats products, given the risk of cannibalizing its own sales or if it marks a shift from Beats.
New headphones are likely to be one of many products released by Apple this year.
In addition to Apple brand tracking tags, Apple is reportedly preparing to release four new iPhone 12 models in September, including a “Mini” iPhone with a 5.4-inch screen, according to a new report.
All four new iPhone 12 models – Pro, Pro Max, standard model and “Mini” – support 5G, according to an earlier report from LetsGoDigital.
