TechCrunch Disrupt is a global event and the Startup Battlefield 200 cohort reflects the rich geographic genius the world has to offer. While we’ve never had a startup out of Antarctica, it’s probably just a matter of time. However, at the moment we are looking at the countries that are part of APAC and Oceania.
APAC and Oceania: Join the Startup Battlefield 200
Time is running out so we are urging all startups living in the Far East, Middle East, South East or down under sign up for the Startup Battlefield 200 at Disrupt 2023. The signup window will close at 11:59 PM PDT on May 15.
SB 200 is the preeminent competition in the startup world and has a global reach. The inaugural cohort, which debuted last year at Disrupt 2022, included 14 startups from seven APAC/Ocean countries, including Australia, India, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
Two startups from the region were chosen as SB 20 finalists. The founders of BetterData (Singapore) and Digest.ai (United Arab Emirates) pitched to the entire Disrupt audience, including leading investors from around the world, for a chance to win $100,000 in the Startup Battlefield competition.
Benefits for the Startup Battlefield 200 at TC Disrupt 2023
The SB 200 membership comes with its privileges, the first of which is the coveted TechCrunch seal of approval. Then there’s the intense (and invaluable) interest from investors and media. SB 200 founders also receive a plethora of complimentary perks, benefits, and opportunities.
Disrupt access: This includes four extra passes and VIP access to all presentations, breakouts and roundtables.
Exclusive workshops and masterclasses: The founders of SB 200 will enjoy workshops in the weeks leading up to Disrupt. They also receive special pitch training from TechCrunch staff and a free year of TechCrunch+ membership.
Flash pitch at Disrupt: That special training will come in handy as you enter the Showcase Stage and pitch to investors and TechCrunch editors. Receive valuable feedback and – who knows? – you might even pique an investor’s interest.
Exhibition space on the exhibition floor: The SB 200 will be the only early stage startup allowed to exhibit at Disrupt.
Save the best for last: All SB 200 founders have a chance to compete for $100,000 in the Startup Battlefield pitch competition. TechCrunch editors will select 20 startups from the SB 200 as Startup Battlefield Finalists. Founders of those 20 companies will be featured on TechCrunch, receive personal pitch coaching, and then pitch live on stage to the entire Disrupt audience. The ultimate winner will take home the $100,000 net worth prize and all the glory.
APAC and Oceania, show us your pioneering startups! If you want to launch the world on a global stage, apply to the Startup Battlefield 200 before May 15 at 11:59 PM PDT. We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco in September!
