Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attended Monday night’s Met Gala in what she believes was a political protest against the wealthy guests she dined with after being invited as a guest at the Metropolitan Museum.
And as she walked the red carpet with Aurora James, the designer behind her ‘tax the rich’ dress, she saw the pair leave the event with their respective other halves.
AOC’s friend, Riley Roberts, beamed as he escorted her up the famous carpeted staircase, decked out in a blue tuxedo.
Less merry was James’ friend, Benjamin Bronfman, whose legacy founded Seagram’s, once the world’s largest alcoholic beverage company.
He is a billionaire environmentalist who previously fought over custody of their son with his ex-partner, the rapper MIA.

His father is Edgar Bronfman Jr., former CEO of Warner Bros. Edgar’s sister Clare Bronfman was one of the women accused of funding the sex cult NXIVM.
She is currently serving 81 months in prison for her role in the violent sex cult founded by Keith Raniere.
The Bronfman family is known for their wealth.
Patriarch Charles Bronfman – Benjamin’s great-uncle – is estimated to be worth $2.5 billion. He sold Seagram Company Ltd., the beverage company, to Vivendi for $30 billion in 2000.
It was Benjamin’s great-grandfather, Samuel Bronfman, who founded the company as Distillers Corporation Limited and took over Seagram’s in 1928.
Benjamin’s father, Edgar Bronfman Jr., is one of seven children.
His half-sister, Clare, is in prison for helping Raniere lead the sex cult that dozens of women claim to have been recruited to.

Before Aurora James, Bronfman was in a relationship with British rapper MIA. The couple have a child together. In 2013, he filed a restraining order against her to prevent her from bringing the child to the UK to live with her. She tweeted at the time: ‘THE BRONFMANS WANT TO TAKE MY CHILD FROM ME’
Before James, Bronfman was in a relationship with British singer MIA. The couple had a bitter custody battle over their son, who wanted to take MIA back to London in 2013.
The bottom line was that Bronfman filed a restraining order against the child’s mother.
She took revenge on Twitter, furious: ‘WOW. THE BRONFMANS WANT TO TAKE MY CHILD FROM ME. WHAT S**T IS THAT? THEY NEVER SEE HIM.
‘Every child needs the MOTHER, I WAS GROWING WITHOUT A FATHER. If I had grown up without my mother, I wouldn’t be here.’
She deleted the tweets 30 minutes later. It is unclear how they resolved the custody battle.
Now Bronfman, who lives in a $7 million mansion in the Upper West Sand James, is a regular on NYC’s party circuit. Earlier this year, they went public with their romance.
James started her fashion brand Brother Vellies in 2013.
She says she made it with $3,000 and started at a flea market, around the same time AOC was working at a Mexican bar in downtown Manhattan.
She gushed during a CNN interview Wednesday that AOC had followed her career from the start.
Brother Vellies is a sustainable fashion brand from Brooklyn, loved by celebrities like Beyonce.

James lent her the dress she had made for AOC. She was hesitant when asked how much it cost during her CNN interview, saying she hadn’t yet calculated how much it all cost to make.
“She wanted to make sure that her message was brought to that room and to people who needed to be more liberal with their economic values.
“She would not have attended and worn a beautiful dress without getting a message across to people,” she said.
AOC has now been hit with allegations that it has violated ethical violations.
the American Accountability Foundation — an impartial conservative research organization that plans to hold public representatives accountable — filed a complaint against her on Tuesday.

A source close to the organizers of the event told DailyMail.com: “Gala guests use their attire to express their opinion, creativity and style” when asked how the Met felt about AOC’s outfit choice.
She claims that anyone who criticizes her is trying to “control her body.”
The Met Museum – which provided her ticket – has not officially commented on what she chose to wear.
The outfit and message were a clear insult to the ultra-wealthy who donate to the gala and fund much of New York City’s culture.
A source close to the organizers of the event told DailyMail.com on Wednesday that it was routine for the museum to give out free tickets to elected officials, and then place them at tables around the event.
“Gala guests use their clothing to express their opinion, creativity and style,” they said when asked what the Met thought of AOC’s outfit choice.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, who also accepted a free ticket, was less fussy about it.
He lived with his wife and son in what was likely his last chance to do so, before leaving office in November.
