The region has recently experienced the worst violence since 2014, after Israeli police prevented Muslims from entering Al Aqsa Mosque on May 8 for a violent police raid two days later, in which agents used CS gas and stun grenades inside the building.

Hamas then fired rockets at Jerusalem in retaliation for the Al Aqsa incident – which triggered bursts of rockets and airstrikes between Hamas and Israel that were reciprocated.

The Biden administration has been intensively scrutinized by the progressive wing of the Republicans, the Democrats, for its approach to the border crisis, in which thousands of unaccompanied migrant children are crammed into temporary shelter facilities for longer than legally allowed.

Videos from recent months have similarly shown Israeli forces detaining Palestinian children, as noted by Al Jazeera. She added, “To read the statements made by President Biden, Secretary [of State Antony] Flash, [Secretary of Defense] General [Lloyd] Austin, and the leaders of both parties, you would hardly know that Palestinians existed at all. ‘

Rep. Ayanna Pressley, a progressive Democrat from Massachusetts, claimed that “Palestinians are told the same as black people in America.”

As a black woman in America, I am no stranger to police brutality and state-sanctioned violence. We have been criminalized for the way we appear in the world, ”Pressley said.

“Palestinians are told the same as black people in America: there is no acceptable form of resistance.”
