The event, which was held at Regal LA Live, welcomed a parade of the film’s cast members, who styled in colors chosen to reflect their personalities.
Chris was cast as Mario—a move that initially sparked an internet “cultural appropriation” uproar due to the fact that the film’s star isn’t actually Italian—and gave a tip of the hat to the character at the premiere.
The 43-year-old Guardians Of The Galaxy beefcake emphasized his physique in a clingy burgundy suit that brought back memories of Mario’s red jersey and baseball cap.
He styled the suit over a simple white shirt, without a tie and left his top button bafflingly unbuttoned while smiling next to his second wife.

Just as Chris gave a nod to Mario in his look, Anya rocked the premiere in a pink floral jumpsuit reminiscent of the one her Princess Peach character wears.
The 26-year-old actress wore a luxuriously wavy ash blonde hairdo that is similarly reminiscent of the flaxen mane fans of Princess Peach will instantly recognize.
She teamed the skintight bodysuit with a pair of hot pink platform shoes, as well as a pair of gloves that she showed off by poaching at the camera with her fists ready to fight.
Charlie Day — who plays Luigi and was dressed in a green outfit appropriate for the premiere — starred alongside his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, while Veep star Sam Richardson attended the dance party on the arm of his girlfriend Nicole Boyd.
Sebastian Maniscalco turned the showbiz party into a family outing, bringing not only his wife Lana Gomez but also their children Caruso, three, and Seraphina, five, who were all dressed up as adorable as Mario and Princess Peach.
Tori Kelly slipped into a figure-hugging dress with a psychedelic print, Kevin Michael Richardson threw a loose-fitting bodysuit over a T-shirt while Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto raised his fist in the air.

Pratt recently addressed the controversy regarding his casting as Mario during an interview with Gizmodo.
During the interview, Pratt expressed his understanding that longtime fans of the Mario series were particularly invested in the character’s integrity.
You totally get it, man. There is an enthusiastic fan base and I am a fan. I get it. Mostly, people don’t want something like this to be messed up. They are precious about it. They are keen. And I am grateful for that.
The Jurassic World Dominion star then noted that he had gone out of his way to faithfully represent the Nintendo character while working on the feature.

“I care just as much as everyone else to make sure they don’t get screwed,” said the performer.
Day went on to explain why he felt as if Mario fans were particularly concerned about the film’s representation of the characters.
“In many ways, the game took care of people, I think, in a way that they don’t want to spoil the franchise at all,” he said.
Pratt went on to discuss his personal history with the Mario series, which began with his encounters with the original Donkey Kong arcade machine during his early years.
My first memory is the arcade. And shortly after that, maybe in six months to a year, the NES came out and we had one in our house and boy, yeah, the rest is history, he said.
