Antony’s international break activities which he hopes will transform his torrid season as Man United winger attempts to force his way back into Erik ten Hag’s team

Antony has been putting in extra work during the international break that will delight Manchester United fans and manager Erik ten Hag.

The Brazilian has endured a difficult second season at Old Trafford that has been marred by poor performances and fans’ frustration over the huge transfer fee paid by United.

Antony arrived in Manchester two years ago following his £85.5million transfer from Ajax and has scored just 10 goals for the club, with just his second of the season in United’s recent FA Cup victory over Liverpool.

However, the fiery forward seems determined to improve his form and has been working hard at a specialist training center during the international break.

Antony failed to make the cut for Brazil’s final team in friendlies against England and Spain, but instead of relaxing at home, he headed to Madeira to pursue a personal training plan.

The Physio Clinic has several locations throughout Europe and focuses on rehabilitation, physiotherapy and helping athletes achieve the highest level of physical performance.

Posting an update to his Instagram account, Antony was seen performing a series of strength and conditioning exercises in the clinic’s private gym before the Premier League resumed this weekend.

‘It is a great pleasure to welcome renowned international athlete Antony Santos to our Performance Medical Gym!’ the clinic captioned its post.

‘In our space, we constantly seek to raise training standards, helping athletes reach new heights of performance. The presence of a player as talented as Antony Santos only reinforces our commitment to excellence.

‘Thank you for choosing our clinic for your training. It was an honor to have you with us!’ they added.

Antony has largely been left out of United’s starting lineup this season due to Alejandro Garnacho’s impressive performances as the club’s right-hand tighthead.

His recent vital goal against Liverpool to force extra time in the FA Cup clash could be seen as a turning point in his disappointing career so far in England.

After his goal, Antony said: “It has been a period of a lot of learning. I try to learn from every criticism, understand where I can improve.

‘I have been working silently to evolve and show my football on the field. I have also been training my right foot to improve it.

“I know my potential and I know why Manchester United hired me. I want to pay for all this on the field.”
