Manchester United winger Antony was heavily criticized by Clinton Morrison after appearing to mock Coventry fans.
United won on penalties to reach the FA Cup final after a remarkable draw against Championship side Coventry at Wembley.
Despite United establishing a three-goal lead, Coventry managed to draw 3-3 to send the game into extra time, with penalties eventually following.
After Rasmus Hojlund took the decisive penalty for United, Antony was seen putting his ears close to the Coventry fans.
Morrison, who played for Coventry between 2008 and 2010, heavily criticized Antony for his actions.
Clinton Morrison criticized Antony for mocking Coventry fans after Man United prevail
Morrison told Antony to focus on himself following his actions against Coventry.
In a blow, Morrison said Antony should “focus on himself” and warned he could play in the Championship next season.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Clinton Morrison said: “He needs to concentrate on himself because he could play in the Championship next season…”
Antony has endured some tough times since joining United for £85.5million in 2022 and has scored just ten goals in 77 appearances for the club, although he has not found the net in the Premier League this season.
However, he has played an important role in United’s FA Cup run, scoring against Newport County and Liverpool. Antony appeared as a substitute against Coventry, replacing Alejandro Garnacho in the 66th minute.
United seemed to be on their way in normal time after goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.
However, Coventry responded through Ellis Simms, Callum O’Hare and a late Haji Wright penalty to send the game into extra time.
Victor Torp thought he had given Coventry the lead in extra time, but his goal was ruled out for offside by VAR.
United then prevailed in the penalty shoot-out, with Hojlund scoring after Ben Sheaf missed for Coventry.
Antony, who appeared as a substitute against Coventry, has had some problems at United.
