EXCLUSIVE

An electrical engineer who was caught brutally degrading women he met on dating apps has now been unmasked as the author of a smutty sex guide called The Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath.

Anton Smolin’s first-person account of his sordid exploits in Australia and abroad was promoted online as including an orgy with a “toothless granny” and a “gang bang with a blindfolded and tied up girl”.

Smolin describes himself as a psychopath “with almost no empathy or moral and ethical standards of any kind” and admits to keeping an Excel spreadsheet of his “sexual conquests.”

The Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath contains such disturbing material that a copy will now be handed over to police for investigation into whether it contains admissions that Smolin committed serious indictable offences.

The book became court evidence when Smolin unsuccessfully sued the Daily Mail Australia for defamation over an article detailing his abusive communications with women.

Despite admitting that he failed to win the libel case, Smolin is still fighting to keep the full contents of the book secret.

Smolin has continued to deny having written The Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath despite his name, photograph and mobile phone number appearing in the book’s publicity.

A promotion on the website Goodreads, apparently written by Smolin, says the book features “funny, weird and interesting seduction stories that took place in Australia and abroad.”

“All the stories are true and the events described happened in real life,” Smolin said.

‘They are portrayed through the eyes of a psychopath with almost no empathy or moral and ethical standards of any kind.

‘I live in a different world; what may seem strange and disturbing in your world may be a normal, everyday occurrence in my world.

‘Unlike fiction writers, I didn’t make things up to shock people; I simply wrote things as they were in real life.’

Smolin’s summary on Goodreads then explains what readers of Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath can expect, including descriptions of acts too graphic to publish.

“Some of the content is explicit and some of it is very explicit,” he says.

‘If you would feel uncomfortable reading about… a four-on-one orgy with a girl tied up and blindfolded, or a 20+ person orgy with a toothless grandmother and a mentally retarded person, then don’t read on.’

Daily Mail Australia first exposed Smolin’s serial abuse of women he met on dating apps in an article published last November when he was an associate director at a Sydney engineering firm.

Anton Smolin’s first-person account of his sexual adventures in Australia and abroad includes an orgy with a “toothless granny” and a “gang bang with a girl tied up and blindfolded”.

Four women came forward to describe their dealings with Smolin and his habit of exploding into a blind rage when they canceled or changed arrangements made on Hinge.

Smolin told one woman who decided not to meet him: “Fuck off, you stupid fat pig,” and told another who turned down a second date: “You’re a stupid, lying b***h.”

The 43-year-old denied any such exchanges had taken place and sued the Daily Mail Australia for defamation in a New South Wales District Court action that backfired spectacularly.

Smolin claimed the article destroyed his reputation and led to his firing by wrongly portraying him as a psychopath, sexual predator and misogynist.

While preparing to defend Smolin’s libel suit, lawyers acting on behalf of the publication obtained an electronic copy of his book.

Upon reading the 305 pages of Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath, solicitors at Mark O’Brien Legal determined they had a legal obligation under the Crimes Act to pass it on to the police.

The book was obtained through a subpoena issued to Smolin’s then-employer, engineering consultants Erbas & Associates, who detained him after seeing the story about his treatment of women.

Lawyers for the Daily Mail Australia presented evidence showing that before leaving his employer, Smolin asked the company to wipe the hard drive of his work computer, which it did.

But before wiping the hard drive, Erbas had made a copy of all of Smolin’s stored documents and among that material was Chronicles of Seduction of a Psychopath.

As soon as it became clear that the book would form a crucial part of the Daily Mail Australia’s defence case, Smolin capitulated and agreed to a judgment and costs order against him.

On Thursday, Judge Judith Gibson issued a formal ruling in favour of the Daily Mail Australia, but issued an interim non-publication order on the full contents of the book.

Judge Gibson also granted an application by lawyers acting on behalf of the publication to hand over the book to police in New South Wales and Queensland for investigation into possible criminal conduct by Smolin.

‘(Smolin) published his tell-all book to the world, offering it for sale on Amazon, in circumstances where its existence was not difficult to ascertain from reviews of the book remaining online,’ Judge Gibson said.

The Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath, published in June 2014, was the subject of a press release that quoted Smolin promoting his “exposé of the global dating scene.”

“I’ve been a player for over 10 years,” Smolin said. “Things started off very slowly for me, as I struggled to learn the art of seduction.

“For a long time I was a nerdy nerd and a hardcore masturbator. However, over time my seduction skills, confidence, and field strategies improved dramatically.”

Smolin boasted that he had “slept” with 106 women – “not including prostitutes and girls from sex parties” – and that more than 70 of those encounters occurred in the previous five years.

“I now live in a world of multiple girlfriends, threesomes, group sex and international pimping,” Smolin said.

‘I keep a detailed record of all my sexual conquests in a sophisticated Excel spreadsheet that I use to plot complex graphs and perform strategic data analysis.’

Many of Smolin’s “conquests” took place in Eastern Europe and he recounts relationships with women he calls “targets” in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia and Ukraine.

Smolin lists his “drunken sexual encounters with multiple girls, prostitutes who agreed to have sex without charging him” and having sex in public with “a young local girl” atop a castle tower in Latvia.

“Smolin hopes that other men will read his book and have more success with women and not have to go through the same difficulties he went through when he first began learning the art of seduction,” the press release states.

The Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath contains such disturbing material that a copy will now be handed over to police for investigation into whether it includes admissions that Smolin committed serious crimes.

The phone number attached to that press release is the same one Smolin used when contacting the women whose experiences with him were featured in the original Daily Mail Australia article.

The Seduction Chronicles of a Psychopath outlines Smolin’s advice for “aspiring Casanovas” and offers “pickup strategies honed from over 10 years of field experience.”

“The key to success is determination,” he writes in the press release.

‘My success was not only due to my charm, good looks, skill or charisma; the key factors to my success were determination and hard work.

‘Most people don’t care and that’s why they usually fail; well… I do care and that’s why I’m well into the triple digits now.’

Some of Smolin’s dating tactics were exposed by women who spoke to Daily Mail Australia in November last year.

Smolin sued the Daily Mail Australia over a story published last year. Four women came forward to describe the blind rage that erupted in Smolin when they cancelled appointments with him.

A woman who had met Smolin on Hinge made plans to meet him the following night, but after several WhatsApp conversations she decided against it.

“Hi, I think I’ll skip it as I don’t think there’s much of a connection there,” he wrote. “Good luck with your search and enjoy France.”

The woman’s polite message was met with outrage by Smolin.

—Why? I didn’t do anything wrong. You’re just a weird idiot wasting your time, she said.

“Fuck you, you stupid fat pig. That’s the reason you’re single: because you’re a fat, annoying piece of shit. It has nothing to do with there not being enough intelligent men available.”

“Go eat more takeout… Men love fat pigs.”

Another woman who turned down a second date with Molin after drinks at the Opera Bar received a barrage of insults when she told him: “We don’t really click.”

“I can’t believe what a rude, annoying, inconsiderate jerk you are,” Smolin said.

“If you didn’t want us to see each other, you could have just said so. There was no need to waste so much time. You’re a stupid, lying bitch.”

Smolin objected when a third woman told him she would drive to the same spot by the port because it was Monday night and she did not want to drink.

“No,” he wrote. “Appointment cancelled.”
