The Frenchman is open to a return to Atlético after a tumultuous time at Nou Camp
De Jong will give Koeman another option in advance, now that the club with little money has lost Lionel Messi and now Griezmann, two of their big names.
Griezmann had been linked with a swap deal involving Saul Niguez, who will go to Chelsea, but hopes for that were quickly dashed earlier in the transfer window.
A return to Atletico was once again put on the table in a dramatic deadline day that marked the end of a miserable time in Barcelona for the French World Cup winner.

The 30-year-old has failed at the Nou Camp since he sealed a £108m move from Diego Simeone’s side two years ago, with his 35 goals in 102 games a disappointing return given his huge price tag.
Despite the departure of superstar Lionel Messi this summer, Griezmann is still linked with a departure from the Nou Camp.
Earlier on the day of the deadline, Sports world reports that Griezmann could return to Atletico Madrid in a swap deal with another star, Portugal international Felix.
An exchange deal with Joao Felix was suggested, but those negotiations never got off the ground
The Spanish outlet reports that Jorge Mendes, Felix’s agent, tried to find a solution for the 21-year-old, who has improved in two years at Atletico after signing for £114 million in 2019.
That deal, however, never got off the ground with Atletico unwilling to let go of their mega-money tally.
Griezmann has had a hard time at Barcelona with fans not accepting the French attacker. The 30-year-old was booed by Barcelona fans during Sunday’s 2-1 win over Getafe, a move that baffled manager Ronald Koeman.

“As a manager, I cannot understand that we have to whistle for our own player,” he said.
“You could whistle him if he had bad attitude or wasn’t working hard, but Antoine had other problems in the game.
“He wasn’t as happy as we had hoped, but it’s only one game.
“I can ask him for four goals… but we didn’t create any chances for him either. Moreover, we lost a lot of the ball in the second half.’
