An Antiques Roadshow guest has said the dazzling valuation of her beloved statue “doesn’t matter”.

During the latest episode of the BBC show, one guest revealed she couldn’t bear to part with her seniority despite her astonishing value.

Expert Will Farmer analyzed Lenci’s beloved 20th-century design that left him in awe.

He asked the owner: ‘Do you love her?’ and she asked the guest’s daughters: ‘Now do you girls love her?’

Will explained: ‘She’s something very, very special. She is also courage.’

As Will spoke, the owner seemed completely unconcerned and Will said, “That’s a really lovely shrug for Mom.”

The guest admitted, “Well, it doesn’t matter because we wouldn’t sell it.”

Will told him: ‘That’s good. But if you had to replace it, it would cost between £10,000 and £15,000.

‘One of the best creators created at a crucial moment in his career. Beautifully decorated, fabulously painted.’

Will, who is passionate about 20th-century ceramics and glass, added: “I’ve always said that if I lost everything, I’d go broke and end up under a railway arch.”

“I’d be under a railroad arch with my four silly, comical glass birds.”

The Lenci Company was founded in Turin after the First World War, around 1918.

It produced not only high-quality dolls, but also luxury items, toys, puppets and household items, including decorative ceramics.
