Anti-vaxxer pundit Beverley Turner is ‘blocked from ITV’s This Morning’ after on-screen argument with presenter Dermot O’Leary over coronavirus vaccine

ITV has blocked pundit Beverley Turner from appearing on This Morning after an on-screen spat over the coronavirus vaccine.

A discussion about the vaccine’s effectiveness became a heated one after Ms Turner said young people should reject the vaccine.

Clearly the show’s staff have been told not to book Ms Turner, 47, as a news reviewer for fear her views on Covid-19 are too controversial.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: “Production staff were told that Bev has been banned from the show after the comments she made… they couldn’t take her anymore.”

Ms Turner, married to ex-rower James Cracknell for 20 years before splitting up in 2018, appeared on This Morning almost weekly.

But last Monday she got into an argument with presenter Dermot O’Leary after she said about the vaccine: ‘It won’t stop you from contracting or passing on the virus.’

O’Leary replied, ‘Yes. The brightest minds of science have come up with this vaccine in an extraordinarily short time.

‘It has been proven that it works statistically. Why are you so cynical?’

After Ms Turner claimed there was ‘no long-term data’ to back up the jabs, O’Leary said: ‘We don’t have a chance to have long-term data because we have this virus that is killing people all over the world. We certainly don’t have that luxury. Why are you so skeptical about the whole thing?’

She replied, ‘Because there is a 99.8 percent survival rate from Covid-19. The average age at death is 82.’

Sources close to Ms Turner said she has had no contact with This Morning since the altercation.

Last night she said: ‘I love taking part in current affairs debates on This Morning and cheering on the longest running daytime show in the country for discussing the biggest stories of the day.

“This Morning has been a huge support to me over the years and I look forward to continuing our positive relationship.”

ITV declined to comment.
