A New Jersey woman made an obscene gesture as she was sentenced to prison for selling fake Covid vaccination cards at the height of the pandemic.
Jasmine Clifford, 34, made an obscene gesture to those present after being sentenced to one to three years in state prison for forging up to 250 fake vaccination cards that she sold on Instagram for $200 each.
The mother of two arrived at the Manhattan courthouse very late on Thursday wearing tight gray shorts, a black T-shirt, black sneakers and a pair of expensive Loewe sunglasses, which she kept on throughout the proceedings and even while being detained.
She tried to hide her face with a sweatshirt wrapped around her head.
Her boyfriend accompanied her to court and sat silently as she was arraigned and taken into custody.

Last week, Clifford’s sentencing was postponed after she brought her two young children to court but made no arrangements for them to be taken home.
Clifford said Thursday she had been confused when she accepted the plea deal, the newspaper reported. Daily News.
“During the last trial I was under the impression that we were setting a trial date,” he said. “I was not aware that a plea had been offered.”
He added: “I had seconds to make a decision and the offer was on the table… I really didn’t know what to do. In my heart, what I wanted was to go to trial.”
However, prosecutors said it was Clifford herself who asked for a plea deal.

Clifford was then handcuffed and led out of the courtroom, but not before giving the middle finger to the press in attendance and taking pictures.
Judge Beller did not accept Clifford’s argument and informed him that he could appeal the sentence.
“I was here, she pleaded guilty in front of me,” the judge said.
“I have a lot of people in front of me who have doubts about going to jail.”

She pleaded guilty to a scheme that led her to sell fake vaccination cards from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention before falsely registering buyers in New York.
As a result, at least 13 people were fraudulently included in the New York State Immunization Information System database, the feds said, while the mother of two was living it up in her Lyndhurst home.
Meanwhile, she maintained a prominent social media presence as the stripper 5StarJaziii, and on a still-up-and-running Instagram account, she advertised fake CDC vaccination cards under the name AntiVaxMomma.
Clifford, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, was charged with offering a forged instrument, criminal possession of a forged instrument and conspiracy.

She accepted payments from interested parties via CashApp or Zelle. The pseudonym was deleted from her social media accounts.
For an additional $250, a second scammer would enter the name of a fake card buyer into a New York state vaccination database, which was used to verify vaccination status at gatherings like concerts and sporting events, prosecutors said.
Clifford was subsequently charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, offering a false instrument for filing, and fifth-degree conspiracy at the time of her arrest in August 2021.
