A newly installed part of the “anti-climb” border wall near San Diego appears to be working, making it much more difficult for migrants to cross the barrier and causing at least three migrants to fall in recent days, it can be revealed. DailyMail.com. .

A local organization documented one of the falls, when a migrant trying to climb fell.

A clip shows him lying on the ground, motionless, as Border Patrol agents waited for an ambulance to arrive.

‘Has a lot of pain; he’s hurt,” Friends of Friendship Park’s Dan Watman narrated in the March 16 clip.

‘I don’t know what his injuries are… but they explained to me that they don’t want to touch him because if they do, they could make the injury worse. If it’s your back or spine, you could make it worse.

New ‘anti-climb’ features have been added to the border wall in San Diego, California

Construction has been underway for the past few weeks and was completed 10 days ago, a local nonprofit says.

A migrant fell from the border wall last month and appeared to be in serious condition, unable to move.

At least two other people have been injured since measures were added to make the wall impassable starting in February, Whatman told DailyMail.com on Wednesday.

Ten days ago, the US Border Patrol installed the last part of the “anti-climb” border wall near San Diego, California, which aims to prevent illegal immigrants from scaling the wall.

Thirty-foot-high steel sections of the wall have replaced shorter, older parts of Friendship Park near San Diego.

The park, which includes a garden and monument, straddles the United States and Mexico and is a stone’s throw from the Pacific Ocean.

It has been a popular crossing point for immigrants seeking to sneak into the country.

Immigrants on the Mexican side of the border could be seen climbing the fence near Friendship Park, as it has been a popular spot in the past.

More people will die as a result of a part of the border wall preventing climbing near San Diego, where at least three people have already fallen.

“If you stop people from trying to cross the wall, there will probably be more people trying to cross the ocean,” Watman added.

‘My idea is that this won’t stop people; “It will only make it more dangerous.”

Even before the anti-climb feature was added to the border wall, there was an increase in the number of drownings in Southern California when migrants attempted to swim around the barrier, which extends 200 feet into the ocean.

Last year, local rescuers rescued 41 migrants from the water, compared to just five in 2020, before the border crisis began. KPBS reported.

The metal additions intended to stop escalation are a prototype that will be replicated in other areas of the southern border if it is considered successful, according to the border report.

The U.S. Border Patrol did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Immigrants often use holes or other openings in the wall to get through, Watman explained, adding that the new structure will not be immune to that.
