Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is ruled out of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City after the Frenchman strained his hamstring against Fulham
Manchester United have been dealt a blow ahead of the FA Cup final after Anthony Martial was ruled out of Wembley clash with Manchester City with a hamstring injury.
Martial suffered a torn muscle in Sunday’s final Premier League game against Fulham and United revealed on Tuesday night that he would not be available for Manchester’s first Cup final.
A club statement read: “Anthony Martial is absent from Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City through injury.
“The France international strained his hamstrings towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win over Fulham at Old Trafford.
“Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear which rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.”

The injury is the latest setback for Martial who has missed much of the season due to a string of injuries which began with a hamstring strain against Atletico Madrid in Oslo in pre-season.
He has made just 15 starts in all competitions and Martial’s lack of availability has cast doubt on his future at Old Trafford with United ready to entertain offers this summer.
Erik ten Hag is already facing anxious expectation over Antony’s fitness for Wembley after the Brazilian winger was blown off in last week’s win over Chelsea, although the United manager is confident that he will be fine.
