Anthony Joshua weighed 20 pounds less than Francis Ngannou ahead of Friday’s ‘Knockout Chaos’ showpiece in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua, who weighed 251 pounds before his victory over Otto Wallin in December, will take to the mat as the favorite over Ngannou, even though the world’s hardest puncher impressed during his controversial split decision loss to Tyson Fury.
AJ has gained just over a pound since defeating Wallin, registering 252.4 pounds on the scale Thursday. Ngannou, meanwhile, has practically kept his weight at 272.6 pounds, having weighed in at 272.2 pounds in his matchup with Gypsy King in October.
The former UFC champion was defeated by split decision when he faced Fury last year, but he will be hoping for different luck on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Zhilei Zhang (291.6 pounds) weighed more than three kilos more than Joseph Parker (247.6 pounds), with the undercard pair stepping on the scale moments before the main event weigh-in.
