Anthony Joshua completed a shadow boxing session and faced Oleksandr Usyk at a press event in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night.

Joshua faces Usyk for the second time this year, having lost his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles in a unanimous points decision last September.

Both fighters enjoyed their moment in the spotlight at a press event in Al Balad ahead of their pivotal rematch on August 20.

Joshua’s manager Freddie Cunningham shared a video of the heavyweight boxer at King Abdullah Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The 32-year-old saw shadow boxing around the venue where his rematch with Usyk will take place in August this year.

Joshua was dressed head to toe in Under Armor uniform and posed for photos as several cameras followed him around the stadium.

Cunningham’s next video showed Joshua preparing for a media training session in Al Balad, wrapping his hands in black sports tape and gauze.

Joshua was then seen in the ring training – exciting fans with his fast hands – before coming face to face with Usyk.

Event organizers were heard calling for the two to “break up” but neither athlete moved as they continued to stare at each other.

Joshua remains confident he can beat the Ukrainian, despite admitting that Usyk “broke himself” during their first fight in September 2022.

AJ has refreshed his training team, parting ways with former coach Robert McCracken and joining forces with new esteemed cornerman Robert Garcia.

Speaking of his past fights compared to his preparation for this summer’s rematch, the 32-year-old said said: “With Andy Ruiz, I think a lot of people can see that things weren’t 100 percent before the fight.

“But you have to be strong and have a thick skin, we take our loss like a man, because when I win I keep it moving, I think everyone, and when I lose, you also have to remain humble in defeat. So I kept it moving and I knew I could come back and do what I had to do.

“The fight with Usyk, he threw me in my ass for a few rounds and I have to take that defeat like a man too. But I hold myself accountable, I’m someone who can admit when I’m wrong and hold my head high when I’m right.

“In the September fight, I was wrong and he was right, and I just have to flip that role on August 20.”

Joshua’s new coach, Garcia, added: “I see another AJ now. The way he thinks, talks. He fought the wrong fight last time, but that’s the past. On August 20, we will do everything we can to win those titles back!’.

Meanwhile, Usyk spoke about his preparation for battle during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He described the conditions as “not the best,” but insisted he was “working hard.”

The 35-year-old said: “As we all know we are not in the best of conditions at home at the moment, but we are doing what we have to do, we are doing my job together with my team and we are working hard towards our goals.

“I never gave very loud and clear speeches, all I did was just work hard in my training camp and in my gym – that’s what I’m going to do until the date of the fight. And then I’ll go in the ring and make you happy with my boxing.’
