Anthony Joshua will turn his back on Sky Sports and sign a lucrative deal with streaming service DAZN, the heavyweight has reported as the heavyweight prepares for his crucial rematch against Oleksandr Usyk this summer.
Joshua has fought throughout Sky Sports’ career, with his promoter Eddie Hearn previously having an exclusive deal with the broadcaster to host his fights, but the Matchroom Boxing chief has since negotiated a £100m-a-year deal with DAZN who has seen him bring his entire stable aboard.
Joshua was the exception to this deal as he had a separate contract to feature his fights exclusively on Sky Sports, but that expired after his first fight against Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September – and the heavyweight has now defected to DAZN , reports the sun.

The Watford-born star has since been the subject of a bidding war, the report claims, but he plans to pledge his allegiance to Hearn’s new project with DAZN, starting with his next fight with Usyk – slated for August in Saudi Arabia. .
Sky Sports were initially confident in re-signing Joshua last month, the report goes on, and DAZN even felt they had lost the race to sign him.
But now the popular app has taken the helm after a ‘sudden swing’, and now an announcement could be made as early as next week.
Joshua has been with Matchroom Sport for 26 of his professional fights and signed a lifetime contract with the promotions company last September after Hearn’s guidance led him to become a two-time world champion.
