Anthony Albanese has cost Australian taxpayers more than $1.3 million in expenses over a three-month period, of which almost half a million has been spent on international jet-setting alone.
The Prime Minister, nicknamed ‘Airbus Albo’ for his frequent trips abroad, spent $421,498 on hotels, taxis and dinners on his trips abroad between April and June 2023.
The astonishing figure was published in the latest report from the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority.
Albanese charged taxpayers more than $154,000 for the ASEAN-Australia Summit and the East Asia, G20 and APEC Summit in November 2022.
The second most expensive trip was to the coronation of King Charles in London, which cost just under $130,000, of which $93,419 was spent on meals and accommodation.

Albanese also spent $5,622 on family travel expenses, as MPs can claim domestic flights and taxis for their partners, dependent children or designated persons.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton was the next biggest spender, billing the taxpayer $849,455.
Travel expenses for its 32 employees totaled $558,847.
Resources Minister Madeleine King was the third biggest spender, with $536,613 in expenditure, while Industrial Relations Minister Tony Burke was fourth with just under $450,000.
With the exception of Mr Dutton, cabinet ministers made up the ten biggest spenders.
Greens leader Adam Bandt came in 11th place, earning more than $431,000.
This included domestic travel expenses of more than a quarter of a million for its 26 employees.
Kennedy MP Bob Katter had the highest expense bill for independents at just over $328,000.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton was the next biggest spender, billing the taxpayer $849,455.
Last week, Albanese sparked outrage after visiting the Hawthorn AFL team in their dressing room as Australians continue to grapple with the cost of living crisis.
“People are struggling to pay the bills and this guy is talking about football,” one fumed.
“The last time you were in Tassie, I remember they interrupted you: ‘let’s talk about housing, Prime Minister’ and you couldn’t get away fast enough. It’s gotten worse since then and here you are, back in selfie mode. God, you’re not inspiring.” said another.
