Anthea Turner has revealed she is ‘accidentally’ talking to sister Wendy again.
The presenter, 63, and her journalist sister, 56, stopped communicating while embroiled in a years-long feud.
The duo refused to detail why they split so dramatically years ago, but talk of a reunion was heard during a joint appearance on Monday in Lorraine.
Anthea also admitted that the death of their mother Jean brought them closer together. Jean died of pneumonia in May 2022 at the age of 91.
When asked how they got back on good terms, Anthea admitted: ‘It was an accident’, before Wendy explained it had to do with a WhatsApp message.
Reunited: Anthea Turner, 63, has revealed she is ‘accidentally’ talking to sister Wendy, 56, again after they stopped communicating while embroiled in a years-long feud
Big secret: The duo refused to reveal in detail why they split so dramatically years ago, but discussed a reunion during a joint appearance on Monday in Lorraine
She recalled, “I was with Mom and Dad. Mom was still alive. Dad had trouble using WhatsApp on his phone. I sent you (Anthea) a WhatsApp message and you called Dad to say: ”How did you send a WhatsApp message?”
“It got complicated, so I was like, ‘oh, give me the phone.’ ”We started talking on the phone and didn’t stop talking.’
The sisters also discussed how losing their mother June and clearing out her belongings gave them a greater appreciation for each other.
Anthea admitted: ‘We emotionally underestimated how difficult it is. You have to get rid of things from your childhood.
“Mom was a hoarder. I’m glad my sister was there to do that. As an only child it must be very hard.’
Anthea said in a joint conversation last week OK! Magazine: ‘We are at that moment in our lives that we are closest to. I believe in enjoying the present and not dissecting the past.
“There’s a phrase I love: ‘Least said, best said.’ What’s happening today is that everyone is saying, ‘We’ve got to unpack it; let’s discuss it.’ But I don’t think this is the right choice for every situation.’
Shared pain: Anthea also admitted that the death of their mother Jean brought them closer
Sad: Jean died of pneumonia in May 2022 at the age of 91
Wendy explained: ‘Neither of us felt the need to discuss the circumstances and arguments that kept us separated for years.
‘What we realized is that we had fun together and that we have a lot to offer as a duo. You can’t do that if you keep dwelling on the past.
‘I consider Anthea my best friend. We talk on the phone every day.’
