It was one of the most loved children’s programs in the UK.
But Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have admitted that they had once organized an episode of the iconic SMTV: Live after a wild night out.
The presenting duo, both 44, admitted that when they presented the ITV show about the Millennium, they had gone on television after celebrating the New Year in Newcastle.

Ant told it Glamor Magazine: ‘We never drank on a Friday night! We did that for one year, that was the millennium. “
“We were in the air the next morning. We were in Newcastle, so we drove through the night and went live in the air, slightly worse for wear. That was the only time. “
Fortunately, Ant and Dec presented the same show from a bed on the set, with Cat Deeley, stinging in the fact that most of the nation had celebrated the previous evening.

Dec added that he and Ant had reserved their Saturday night to party after they had organized the show.
He said: ‘We used to leave the show on Saturday, so Saturday was a sesh. Sundays were a debit! ”
Looking back on their time in the show, Ant and Dec admitted that their most cherished memory came from Chums’ wedding sketch, in which Dec and Cat saw the knot, with Mariah Carey as a bridesmaid and Frank Skinner dressed as a preacher.
Ant and Dec organized SMTV: Live with Cat from 1998 to 2001, before they decided to leave the show to present their own Saturday night show.

It comes when Saturday Night Takeaway returns to screens long-awaited this weekend, following a break last year when Ant took a break from some of his television duties after his arrest with drunk driving.
The 2018 series had to close with Dec, solo, together with hosts Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern.
The new series is expected to include all the usual staples of the show, including I’m A Celebrity Get Out Of Me Ear, Undercover and Ant Vs Dec.
The Saturday Night Takeaway from Ant and Dec will be back on ITV on Saturday at 7 pm.
