Ant & Dec cut sombre figures as they share a hug following their beloved Newcastle’s loss to Man U

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly looked dejected after their beloved Newcastle lost 2-0 to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

The duo, both 47, embraced after the disappointing result, with Newcastle’s Svent Botman scoring an own goal to clinch the Red Devil’s first trophy in six years.

The Saturday Night Takeaway stars were joined in the packed stands by their respective partners Anne-Marie McPartlin and Ali Astall.

After the final whistle, we saw the former Byker Grove actors looking shocked and holding their heads in their hands.

Longtime Newcastle supporter Ant wore a scarf in the team colors along with a black college jacket with black jeans and a cap with black lace-up boots.

Meanwhile, Dec was similarly dressed in a black bomber jacket with dark pants and a khaki green baseball cap.

Anne-Marie, 46, looked glamorous during the day in a gray knitted jumper, which she wore over a white blouse with a cream wool coat.

She wore her blonde locks in loose curls and opted for a natural palette of make-up, complete with a slick pink lipstick.

They were joined by Amanda Staveley, who sits on the club’s board of directors.

Ali Astal, 44, looked equally chic in a black coat, which she wore with a leopard print scarf and a black knitted pompom hat.

She wore her blonde locks in a loose bouncy style and opted for a soft palette of makeup.

The outing comes after Ant and Dec revealed an awkward celebrity on SM:TV Live who became their worst interviewee ever.

The show was one of their early programs together where they did skits and challenges with Cat Deeley.

SM:TV Live, which helped catapult them to stardom, required them to bring in celebrities for chats.

But not all the big names were happy to be on the show, with Christina Aguilera as their standout badass interviewee.

She refused to get involved in their highjinks live on the show, as other stars did, and requested that their discussion be pre-recorded.

Speak against Huff Post, they said, ‘She (Aguilera) was sitting there in her sunglasses and wouldn’t take them off. It was a pre-recorded interview, because she didn’t want to do it live.

“Everything pointed to it being a bad interview. And it turned out to be a bad interview.’

It comes after Ant and Dec admitted to once hosting an episode of SMTV: Live after a wild night out.

The presenting duo confessed that when they presented the ITV show at the Millennium, they went on air after celebrating the New Year in Newcastle.

Ant told Glamor magazine: ‘We never drank on a Friday night! We did that for a year, that was the millennium.’

“We were on the air the next morning. We were in Newcastle so we drove through the night and went live on the air a little worse for wear. That was the only time.’

Thankfully, Ant and Dec hosted that same show from a bed on set, with Cat mocking the fact that most of the country had been partying the night before.
