The new rock festival Pandemonium Rocks will not take place this year.

The hard/punk rock concert was forced to cancel its upcoming tour just a month before it was scheduled to begin, according to a report from Nine news.

However, tickets are still on sale on the festival website.

Blondie, Alice Cooper, Placebo, Deep Purple, Wheatus and The Psychedelic Furs were among the headline acts scheduled on two stages, alongside Australian band Wolfmother.

Rock legends Deep Purple are no longer presenting the festival as part of their 2024 touring schedule on their website.

Nine News Gold Coast reporter Isabel Quinlan tried to call organizers to confirm the concert would not go ahead, but hung up.

Event organizers hailed Pandemonium as Australia’s hottest new rock festival and “a rock fan’s dream come true”.

“Immerse yourself in the epic lineup of legendary acts whose countless hits have become the soundtrack to our lives,” the concert’s Facebook page says.

The festival was due to kick off on April 20 in Melbourne before traveling to Sydney, the Gold Coast and Bribie Island.

Pandemonium Rocks is one of several music festivals canceled this year. Groovin the Moo announced last month that festivals in regional Australia would not take place in 2024, citing poor ticket sales.

Pandemonium Rocks was already in conflict when it faced the traditional Anzac Day march in Sydney.

Thousands of revelers were expected at The Domain in Sydney on April 25 for the one-day Pandemonium event.

At the same time, less than a kilometer away, thousands of Australians were expected to march through the city’s streets for the traditional Anzac Day march, attended by up to 10,000 active-duty military personnel and veterans. .

Alice Cooper was also among the headline acts scheduled to perform on two stages.

The concert’s 11.30am start time conflicts with the march – which doesn’t finish until after midday – sparking concerns within RSL NSW.

The NSW government intervened in January when Premier Chris Minns revealed the concert would not be allowed to take place at The Domain.

“There will be no rock concert in the middle of the city on Anzac Day,” the Prime Minister told reporters.

“This part of the city should and will be a place where diggers can commemorate with friends and family and where fellow Australians can commemorate the service of those who gave their lives in the service of our country.”
