Anna Wintour made a statement while following this year’s Garden of Time theme with a chic ensemble at the star-studded 2024 MET Gala in New York City on Monday.
The 74-year-old Vogue editor-in-chief, who recently revealed the Met Gala “deadly sin” she’s committed, joined other celebrities on the red carpet during some early festivities, including model Ashley Graham.
The star wowed in a white dress that had an ankle-length hemline and contained white floral embroidery throughout the material.
Wintour layered the look with a long black coat that buttoned at the front and had colorful floral details containing shades of red, yellow, orange and green.
For the annual event, Anna was seen ditching her iconic sunglasses as she struck a variety of poses as she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the heart of the Big Apple.

She accessorized her outfit for the evening by adding a chunky silver necklace with rhinestone details that sparkled under the bright lights.
Anna also added a large silver brooch to the left side of her coat that also had sparkly flower-shaped details.
The media executive slipped on a pair of white peep-toe pumps to match the color scheme of her dress.
Wintour’s short locks were parted down the middle and fell almost to the ends of her shoulders while her bangs fell softly over her forehead.
Her makeup was classic, consisting of a coat of mascara on her eyelashes and a light, shiny shadow around her eyes.
A warm blush was added to her cheekbones to give her a radiant glow, while a satin pink tint was used on her lips for a finishing touch.
Anna, who has headlined the annual gala since 1995, flashed a cheerful smile as she flaunted her ensemble on the red carpet, lined with greenery and white flowers.
The star-studded festivities take place annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May and attract numerous celebrities for the big night.

The MET’s Costume Institute is celebrating a new exhibition called Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion whose dress code is The Garden of Time.
Shortly before the main event began on Monday, Anna sat down with Today’s host, Jenna Bush Hager, to talk about the MET Gala.
During the interview, the British editor revealed the “deadly sin” she has committed regarding this year’s exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, which caused a bit of “confusion.”
“This exhibition broke my cardinal rule, Jenna, which is when we came up with the title Sleeping Beauties, it’s wonderful and poetic and romantic, but it could actually be many, many things.”
Notably, Anna joined forces with MET Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton to decide Garden of Time’s dress code.
“I’m afraid we’ve unleashed a lot of confusion out there, for which I deeply apologize, but I imagine we’ll see a lot of flowers,” he told Jenna.
He also talked about certain foods he removed from the menu during the event, including onions, scallions and garlic. “Well, those are three things I don’t particularly like, so yeah, it’s true.”

On the subject of banning cellphone use at the gala, Wintour explained: “It’s often wonderful to hear after dinner people say, ‘Oh, we had some wonderful conversations…’.”
“And that’s the idea, that life can exist without a photo on your cell phone,” the star added.
Jenna also revealed Anna’s rather cryptic answer about whether Taylor Swift will be attending, although she is rumored not to due to time conflicts with her Eras Tour resuming in France on May 9.
“I also had to ask, because Mila Hager asked if Taylor would be there and she (Anna) said, ‘I hope she comes and enjoys the exhibit,'” he said, referring to his daughter.
