Anna Kendrick called herself a “childless cat lady” when speaking about her decision not to have children.
The Pitch Perfect actress, 39, who recently reunited with her Pitch Perfect 2 co-stars at the Woman Of The Hour premiere, opened up about the topic during an interview with Flow space which was published on Wednesday.
At one point, she said, ‘I was recently thinking about a phrase I heard men say about their desire to have children in the future, and it occurred to me: I don’t think I’ve ever heard a woman say that.’
Kendrick added: “And what they’ll say is, ‘Yeah, maybe one day, a couple of kids running around.'”

As far as the “visual” goes, Anna explained: “That you come home at the end of your work day and leave your proverbial briefcase behind.”
‘And you’re making a cocktail, and a woman in a Laura Ashley dress is in the garden, and there are a couple of kids – dressed in white! – running around.’
The Twilight star then asked the men: ‘Um, where are you on that, sir?’
‘I don’t know, there’s something about that sentence that’s really starting to bother me. It’s like when I hear husbands say they want to “help” with the kids. And they are two working parents!’
Kendrick also revealed that she wants to bring up the topic and share her own thoughts with her friends who are mothers, but she doesn’t feel able to do so.
“And I always want to say something, and then I say, ‘Well, I’m the cat lady with no kids. “I’m not going to say shit.”
