Anitta commented: “I did Funk Generation in the hospital. I thought: I want an album like this; “If I die, I’ll leave behind an album I’m proud of.”

‘I’m very proud of this album and I didn’t make it thinking about streams, algorithms and numbers. I just thought about having fun and loving what I did,” he gushed.

In July 2022, the superstar took to Twitter, now X, to share a photo of herself in a hospital bed with a thumbs up.

She explained: “I came from the tour directly to the hospital to begin preparations for a surgery that I am going to perform as soon as my body is ready for it.”

In a follow-up tweet, she added: “Surgery was already scheduled before the tour started. I have something called ENDOMETRIOSIS (very common in millions of women in the world but not as talked about as it should). I’m fine, I’m very well taken care of and I will keep everyone informed. Much love.’

She told Today: ‘After my health problems, I started to take better care of my spirituality. I follow the Yoruba religion and I had to throw myself into that. I immersed myself in myself and everything that makes me feel at peace.’
