In case a close contest between two SEC schools wasn’t enough entertainment, an invasion on the field by a strange creature simply added to the atmosphere.
During a game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), a squirrel was seen running onto the field during the first quarter.
The squirrel ran into the end zone at Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, prompting wild cheers from the crowd.
It’s unclear where the squirrel ran next, as it appeared to run down a tunnel toward an unknown location.
It was a tough game for the 18th ranked Ole Miss Rebels as they battled a struggling Oklahoma Sooners team that entered the game with a 4-3 record.

After struggling to get going on offense, the Rebels finally managed to rally and built a lead in the fourth quarter.
But the process was briefly halted when an Ole Miss team doctor collapsed on the sidelines.
Cameras focused on the stands as medical staff rushed to help the employee. He was eventually seen walking with help through the tunnel to a waiting ambulance and taken to a hospital.
Ole Miss won the game 26-14 to improve to 6-2 on the season. Quarterback Jaxson Dart ended up completing 22 of 30 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
