Here we’re taking a look at both the updates currently scheduled for New Horizons in 2021 and everything we know so far so without further ado let’s get straight into today’s post.
We are now about a week into the brand new year of 2021 and have now pretty much seen all of the content that was added to New Horizons in the most recent winter update at the end of last year. Naturally with the holidays now over, many players are eagerly awaiting to see what’s next for Animal Crossing New Horizons and what kind of updates the game will see in the coming weeks. Of course, Nintendo has confirmed on several occasions now that Animal Crossing New Horizons will receive regular seasonal updates and has a projected lifespan of over three years. however as things stand we only really know about two new additions to New Horizons that are currently scheduled for the coming weeks including one event in particular that you may have already forgotten about.
ACNH Festivale Event & Pave In January Update
Anyway, thanks to the winter update trailer that was released last November just before the start of the winter season, we know the first update of 2021 is coming sometime in late January, so in just a couple of weeks time. During this preview, it was also revealed that the special character Pave will be added to the game as part of the update. Now Nintendo loves to announce new characters this way, so it’s a strong indication that Pave will take on a similar role to previous games and host the festival event. We saw this trend with Zipper T Bunny and Bunny Day, Jack and Halloween, and of course Franklin and Turkey Day, and so on. So it’s pretty likely that the reason Pave was teased is because the January update will be focused around this event and probably a few other things as we slowly move away from the current season.
Anyway for those that don’t know the Festivale event is a celebration that falls in line with the real world carnival star celebrations in the spring, now in spirit of festival the event typically sees the players collecting something bright and colorful like feathers and returning them to Pave in hopes of seeing some awesome dance moves before being rewarded with limited time ACNH items. Pave gets to dance and party and we get some cool furniture. Of course we don’t know the exact details just yet but based on the last few holiday style events, there’s a good chance we’ll see a bunch of new festival and carnival themed items in the next update, but at the very least pave is 100% confirmed to return.
ACNH Super Mario Crossover In March
Moving on the second update we know is coming at some point in 2021, is of course the super Mario crossover. We know this thanks to the Super Mario 35th anniversary trailer that was released over four months ago now that revealed and we quote super Mario themed furniture will be added to the Animal Crossing New Horizons game. Unfortunately other than arriving sometime in march this year that’s all the trailer revealed, but it’s safe to say the crossover event will release sometime in the lead up to March 10th, which is of course celebrated as Mario Day so will likely be distributed earlier. Now at first it may seem strange to have a Mario crossover in Animal Crossing, but Mario and other Nintendo themed items have featured in pretty much every Animal Crossing game as far back as the original. Furthermore, many of these kinds of Mario items have previously been seen as recently as Animal Crossing Pocket Camp when they were added to the game during Mario day last year.
Anyway all we know for sure is that Super Mario furniture is 100% coming to New Horizons and is confirmed for an update sometime in March. So there we have it that’s two new updates being pave and the festival event and the super Mario crossover that are scheduled for updates to New Horizons in the coming weeks. But what do you think about these updates, are you looking forward to meeting Pave, and do you think you’ll find a use for the Mario themed furniture items and Nook Miles Ticket somewhere around your island, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
