"Lochy, I was so proud to be your father, you made me a better man," he told the crowd.

Mr. Bond also paid tribute to Erica, his wife of almost fifteen years, in an emotional compliment, saying it was "an honor" to be her husband.

"I do not think I've ever seen a woman as beautiful as you did on our wedding day.

"I was so proud of my family, I will always love you."

Joining Mr. Bond in his distress was an outpouring of extended family support led by Mrs. Bond's mother, April Straker.

The bodies of Erica and Lochlan Bond were discovered by the emergency services and were called to their home in Wyongah on August 28, after neighbors heard a woman screaming for help.

It is believed that Lochlan was in his room and his mother outside.
