Frustrated New York Jets fans unanimously agreed that Aaron Rodgers should retire after a woeful performance in their 6-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Rodgers completed 22 of 35 passes for 151 yards and zero touchdowns while being sacked three times as the Jets were eliminated on Sunday.
With his team being outplayed on the field, fans clamored for Rodgers to hang up his cleats after the game as he can’t seem to find his footing with the team late in his career.
“I’m happy to see Aaron Rodgers look like a loser,” one fan wrote. ‘He knows everything/he doesn’t know s**t he needs to move on and retire. I got Saleh out of there only for them to still look terrible. They are such an unserious franchise.”
“I need Aaron Rodgers to retire after this year,” another added. ‘Please and thank you…’
Frustrated Jets fans called for Aaron Rodgers to retire after New York’s loss to the Cardinals.
Rodgers was sacked three times as the Cardinals defeated the Jets, 6-31, on Sunday afternoon.
“Aaron Rodgers is a bum,” chimed in a third. “Your sorry ass needs to retire.”
A fourth fan cited UFC boss Dana White while advocating for Rodgers to resign.
“Dana White says ‘once a wrestler talks about retiring, he should just retire,'” the fan commented. “When Aaron Rodgers spoke to Mcafee to announce that he intended to play for the Jets, he also said he was 90% retired when he went into obscurity.”
“Aaron Rodgers needs to retire and give the Jets all their money back,” insisted a fifth.
“Aaron Rodgers has to retire,” repeated a sixth. “He is the biggest problem for airplanes.”
Rodgers’ tenure with the Jets began tragically last year when he tore his Achilles tendon on opening night against the Buffalo Bills and missed the rest of the season.
Fans took to social media to call on the veteran quarterback to resign following the loss.
This year, Rodgers sought redemption after recovering from the injury. However, the team can’t seem to get on the same page as their losses continue.
Rodgers has completed 197 of 316 passes for 2,107 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. On the other hand, he threw seven interceptions and was sacked 20 times.
While the 2011 NFL MVP miraculously led New York to a victory over the Houston Texans in late October, Sunday’s loss dropped the Jets to 3-7. Rodgers and Co. will face the Indianapolis Colts on November 17.
