Angie Harmon received an apology from Instacart after the company’s delivery driver allegedly shot and killed one of her dogs over Easter weekend.

The former Law & Order star, 51, revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that the shopper had killed her dog Oliver after shopping was dropped off at her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“This Easter weekend, a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot and killed our precious Oliver,” she wrote, along with several sweet photos of the deceased pet. “He got out of his car, delivered the food and THEN shot our dog.”

In a statement provided to DailyMail.com, Instacart addressed Angie’s claims, revealing that the delivery driver in question has been suspended from his role.

‘We are deeply saddened and disturbed to learn of this incident. “We do not tolerate violence of any kind and the buyer’s account was immediately suspended from our platform,” a spokesperson said.

Harmon claimed the driver handed him groceries before shooting his dog Oliver. She disputed claims of “self-defense,” as the driver allegedly appeared unharmed.

“We have been in direct contact with the client and are cooperating with authorities in their investigation.”

In his Instagram post, Harmon claimed that the Instacart shopper knew he was not being recorded before shooting the dog, and noted that his Ring security camera was charging inside at the time of the incident.

“Our Ring camera was charging at the house, he saw it and then knew it wasn’t being recorded,” he wrote.

Harmon noted that the driver was released by police after claiming he shot the dog in “self-defense.”

However, the Rizzoli & Isles star disputed that her dog had attacked the driver, writing, “He didn’t have any scratches or bites and his pants weren’t torn.”

He went on to describe a chilling interaction in which the driver allegedly admitted to killing his dog.

‘He shot our dog with my daughters and I at home and kept saying, “Yeah, I shot your dog.” Yes, I did,” she wrote.

Harmon identified the driver as a man, but claimed he was using a woman’s identity on her Instacart profile, which she posted to Instagram, although the delivery driver’s identity has not yet been made public.

“We are completely traumatized and beyond devastated by the loss of our beloved child and family member,” she concluded, while adding “#RIP OLLIE.”

In an update from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to TMZLaw enforcement officials confirmed that the Instacart driver had claimed he shot the dog in self-defense.

She called the shooter’s actions “despicable and inexcusable” in a subsequent Instagram Stories post.

‘The investigation revealed that a delivery driver arrived at the residence to deliver consumer goods. The driver told officers that a dog attacked him while he was at the residence and that he defended himself by firing a single shot, striking and fatally wounding the dog,” police said. “Another dog was present at the residence but did not attack.”

They added that the department’s Animal Control division was also involved in the response to the shooting, but the department confirmed that no charges had been filed against the driver at this time.

The police department added that it was not looking for any other people in response to the shooting.

He included a cute video in which he theatrically cleared his throat off-camera because Ollie had broken the rules and sat on the couch, but then another woman appreciatively scratched his head instead of scolding him.

Harmon later wrote a message to the delivery driver on his Instagram stories.

“To the man who took Ollie from us: your actions are despicable and unforgivable,” she seethed. “Not only have you robbed us of a beloved member of our family, but you have also traumatized us beyond measure.”

He said it was “beyond comprehension” that “someone could commit such a cruel act.”

Harmon’s biggest role to date was in the crime drama series Rizzoli & Isles, in which she played a Boston homicide detective who works in conjunction with a medical examiner to solve crimes.

The TNT series ran for seven seasons from 2010 to 2016.
