Angelina Jolie has abandoned her two-year legal battle against the Justice Department and the FBI over documents related to abuse allegations she made against her ex Brad Pitt.
Jolie, 49, had been pursuing an anonymous prosecution as ‘Jane Doe’ with the FBI, who investigated an alleged altercation between the duo on a private jet in 2016.
He had been seeking documents from the FBI about its investigation into the allegations and filed a Freedom of Information Act request in 2021.
Pitt, 60, was accused of pouring red wine and beer on his ex and one of the couple’s children on a private plane, allegations he denies.

Court documents obtained by In contact The ‘Jane Doe’ program dropped its lawsuit and informed the court of its decision on September 25.

The FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services had launched investigations into the alleged incident.

Her lawyers added: “While Pitt presents what is in practice an outdated domestic violence privacy argument to protect her abuse, her argument is not the law, at least not in this century, and she cites no authority that give him such unwarranted protections. Jolie’s team has previously argued that Pitt should be forced to hand over his personal communications as part of discovery in the winery case.
Pitt has responded to the lawsuit as “broad” and “intrusive,” and his lawyers say Jolie wanted access to information “about such sensitive topics as the therapy she voluntarily underwent” after the plane trip.
However, he maintained that he had been willing to provide “sufficient documents to prove everything that happened on the flight.”
