Angelina Jolie has landed a new film role.

On Tuesday it was revealed that the Oscar-winning actress will star in a film that has to do with the world of haute couture in Europe.

The French film is called Stitches and is from director Alice Winocour and will be filmed in both French and English.

It is “set in the world of haute couture and takes place in Paris,” according to Variety.

Angelina “stars in the film as a filmmaker and is one of three women whose lives will collide during Fashion Week.”

This fits nicely with the fashion design companies the 49-year-old supports under her Atelier Jolie banner.

Jolie was last in Paris for the filming of Maria.

In that film she played the iconic Greek opera singer during her final days in the 1970s.

The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and was celebrated with an eight-minute ovation.

There is talk of Jolie to be nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress.

She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for Girl, Interrupted.

Jolie admitted that winning an Oscar for Maria would be a plus.

The actress had the ‘experience of her life’ starring in Pablo Larraín’s biographical psychological drama about the diva María, and although the hype over the Oscars is ‘very nice’, she feels that she has already been given ‘the greatest gift’ to give a film with an ‘extraordinary team of people’ and everything else is a ‘dream’.

When asked about the Oscar rumors surrounding his film, he laughed to Best UK magazine: “It means a lot that someone thinks you did a good job.” Good? That means everything to me.

‘That sort of thing is exciting and very, very enjoyable. But I’m very happy that we were able to make this movie. I’m really very happy.

‘I know it sounds like people say this, but actually, this was a once in a lifetime experience. I learned to sing and embodied a woman I respect. I was able to work with this extraordinary team of people. I feel like I have already been given the greatest gift.

‘The public seemed to respond well. So anything else is a dream, but I’m already very grateful.”

The ‘Maleficent’ star was last nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for ‘Changeling’.

The Hollywood star, who has six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt, previously admitted that immersing herself in opera training for the film was the “therapy” she didn’t know she needed.

Speaking with WSJ. magazine, said: ‘Pablo (Larraín, director) expected me to learn, to really sing… to understand and study the opera, to fully immerse myself and do the work.

‘But it was much more than that, it was understanding María Callas and being able to interpret the character.

‘I had no idea how much I was holding in and not letting out. So, the challenge was not the technical, it was an emotional experience to find my voice, to be in my body, to express.

“You have to give every part of yourself…everything you have.”

Angelina spent “months” working on her voice.

He previously told the Telluride Film Festival: “I had seven months of opera classes, great teachers and Italian classes, and a support team that was going to help me.”

Despite this, Angelina still felt eager to sing when the time came to do so.

She said: “I was so nervous that morning I was crazy.”
