Jolie has always been active in political and international causes, particularly women’s issues and speaking out on behalf of refugees.
And she’ll be there to watch President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden host the second state dinner of their administration on Wednesday for South Korean President Yun Sok Yul and his wife, Kim Kyun Hee.
Guests will dress in black to dance and dine under the cherry blossoms in the East Room of the White House.

Previewing the event Monday, Jill Biden said the decor was to “show the harmony between our intertwined cultures and people.”
As guests enter the East Room, they will see stunning landscape designs featuring some of America’s most iconic symbols – the American bison, American bald eagle, roses, and stars – and Korean imagery – the Korean magpie and Korean tiger.
This comes after news of Jolie collaborating with Halle Berry on the new action-thriller Maude v Maude.
Warner Bros. won the project after a “multi-studio bidding war” for the project, according to Delivery time.
Both Jolie and Berry, 53, are set to star in and produce the project.
Roseanne Liang (Shadow in the Cloud) is directing a screenplay by Scott Mosier (Free Birds), who will both executive produce.

Plot details have yet to be released by the project which has been described as a “Bond vs. Bourne-type global thriller”, with locations to be announced at a later date.

Both are well versed in the action genre, as Jolie starred in two Tomb Raider films, Mr. and Mrs. Smith with ex-husband Brad Pitt and Salt.
Berry is no stranger to action, having played a Bond girl in 2002’s Die Another Day, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and several X-Men movies.
The project first hit the market last weekend and has attracted many suitors, though Warner Bros. won it the latest star-driven package landed by new studio executives Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdi.
While streaming services have recently won high-profile projects like this, Warner Bros. It delivered an impressive eight-figure showing that you don’t see from studios much these days, according to the report.

Maude v Maude will also be produced by Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth, who will produce through RK Films.
Jolie is currently working in post-production on her latest directorial effort, Without Blood, which stars Demian Bashir and Salma Hayek, and for which Jolie also penned the screenplay, based on the book by Alessandro Baricco.
Although she hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2021’s Eternals, she has a number of projects in pre-production, including Maleficent 3 and Maria, who plays legendary opera singer Maria Callas.
She is also attached to star in Every Note played by Christoph Waltz and will return as Tigress in the Kung Fu Panda 4 animated sequel.
