Angelina Jolie was seen spending time with fellow actor Chris Rock on Thursday night.
The Oscar-winning movie star was one of the hosts during a special evening at her Atelier Jolie store in New York City.
Jolie and Rock, who is friends with Angelina’s ex-husband Brad Pitt, were photographed by Dan Chen in images shared on the store’s Instagram page.
They were sitting next to each other at dinner while talking about sculpture. Also attending the event were fashion designers Tory Burch and Diane von Furstenberg.
“A memorable evening at Atelier Jolie with the Catharsis Arts Foundation, using sculpture to embody social issues, create empathy, and uplift communities in a virtuous cycle,” the caption read.

‘It was founded by artist @prune and president of Catharsis Arts Foundation @claudegrunitzky Prune and Claude spoke about their mission and current project, Statues Also Breathe.
‘The project is a collaboration with the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at Obafemi-Awolowo University and the families of the Chibok girls, who were abducted in 2014 by Boko Haram.
‘Inspired by the ancient terracotta heads of Ife, this project raises awareness about girls who are still missing and highlights the global fight for girls’ education.

Atelier Jolie opened its doors last year and all year long the store has been packed with classes on how to be creative with clothes.
There was a session on ‘upcycling’, which means reusing old items, and there was a class called Experimental Drawing with Andrew Castrucci.
Before that there was an intimate apparel class “where you can learn how to create designer-inspired intimates.”
And there was another meeting with Giancarlo Cipri on how to screen print and Mimi Plange on using felt applique.
Jolie sits next to Chris as they chat with artist Prune, who was wearing a green cowgirl shirt.

Jolie also hosted a conversation with artist Ferrari Sheppard.
The 6,600-square-foot, mostly brown and beige space features a cozy café and an art gallery. It is located at 57 Great Jones Street and is open Tuesday to Saturday.
“The place is lively and has a very smart atmosphere. I like being there, it’s amazing,” said one Atelier Jolie fan. “It’s a cool place to hang out.”

‘It was definitely a labor of love on Jolie’s part to highlight the artists. And the coffee is good, the coffee is fun,” the source added.
“Everyone there seems genuinely interested in not making what The Gap sells – there’s a lot of craftsmanship.” The classes are great. And people talk about how amazing Angelina is for opening the store. They adore her. There are a lot of Jolie fans there.

Inside the store hangs clothing from sustainable brands from around the world, Atelier Jolie’s own collection, art and a refugee-run cafe called Eat Offbeat.
It’s in New York’s NoHo neighborhood that was formerly the studio and home of Jean-Michel Basquiat, according to WSJ.
Last year, Jolie told the WSJ that she will “probably lose money, maybe even for a while” at her store.
“If I can finally put some things into practice that I think are improvements and just break even, it will be a big win,” the Salt star said.
Earlier this year they put out a call to creators.
The store has a piano, chairs and tables, books and a bar.
The artwork can be seen in the background as clothed hands made of wooden poles.

The Tomb Raider star added that he was looking for “qualified tailors.”

‘The purpose of this collective is to collaborate with clients, supporting them with tools to design and create. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your own line and sell in-store under your name, to help launch your own new sustainable brand after leaving residency.
‘We understand that for financial reasons you may not have been able to address the issue of sustainability, so we are here to support that effort.
