Angelina Jolie and her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne got the phrase ‘Stay Gold’ tattooed after working together on the Broadway play The Outsiders.
The 49-year-old movie star revealed the tattoos in an interview with CR Fashion Book – five months after her tattoo was first spotted – as she walked the red carpet for the opening of The Outsiders.
Angelina shares six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt: sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 16, and daughters Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne, 16.
“I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with The Outsiders. It means a lot to us separately and together,” Angelina told the outlet.
Vivienne decided to leave her father Brad’s last name off of The Outsiders and opted for Vivienne Jolie.

She did not specify where Vivienne got hers.
After seeing The Outsiders at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego in 2023, Vivienne inspired her mother Angelina to sign on as a producer for the musical adaptation of the play.
In August 2023, the film star revealed that her daughter Vivienne inspired her to take on the role of lead producer on the Broadway play The Outsiders.
Vivienne worked as a volunteer assistant to her mother, while Angelina was a lead producer on The Outsiders.

“Viv reminds me of my mother in the sense that she’s not focused on being the center of attention, but rather on providing support to others,” she told the outlet in a statement.
“She is very thoughtful and takes theatre very seriously and works hard to better understand how to contribute,” he added.
“I look forward to contributing to and continuing to learn from this incredible team, with whom I have been working since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse,” Jolie said in a statement after it was announced.
The musical Outsiders is based on the novel by S.E. Hinton and the 1983 film by Francis Ford Coppola.
During The Outsiders’ opening night in April, Angelina said she felt “honored” to be working on the production.
The mother of six also revealed that her bird tattoo on her chest is another tattoo she shares with ‘some’ of her children. In June, Angelina and Vivienne won a Tony Award for The Outsiders, after winning Best Musical.

The actress did not reveal which of her six children has the bird tattoo with her.

Angelina is in the middle of a lawsuit with Brad, 60, centering on their Chateau Miraval winery amid their eight-year divorce.
He sued her for selling him half of the winery in October 2021 for $67 million.
They married in August 2014 after 10 years together, but Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016.
A judge granted the two legally single status on April 12, 2019, as the couple continues to finalize their divorce.
